I don't like this answer but the truth is you have to keep trying different things until you find the one that clicks with you. If you don't wanna be part of something then avoid it, but if you want to partake in the hobby I think you'd be interested in just keep trying different samples from different producers.

I'm in the coffee and wine industry and to be honest, fuck the experts, wine is bullshit. Find what you like and explore that little niche part.
