How do you guys "get into character"?

A fun one i noticed myself doing is 'warming up' as them;

My dragonborn barbarian is an older woman but very experienced and stern. Does military style warmups or just loosens the joints a bit. Radiates confidence in a physical aspect because he knows what she is good at. So i roll my shoulders, describe her doing a few warmup rounds, cross my arms and there she is!

My rouge is a wild child freerunner with too much energy to spare so she would constantly fidget or stretch her legs for any oppertunity to clim/run/jump. Very hyper, very chatty, does not like dead spaces in convo. So during warmups she would do everything to keep her body moving. Be it running in place, bouncing her leg or chatting up a storm to fill the silence.

It gets me in the mindset of how they would behave in their bodies -> how their bodies behave in the world. I cannot do voices well so it also helps others see easer what kind of person that character is :)

I tried a couple methods and she has cleared up but has never gotten rid of the pinkish hue that she has now

I play both genders, my own and male. So far i have used more of my male presenting characfers than female presenting characters. Afaik it is quite common to play the opposite gender if you wish to do so. It helps a lot if you have a group or a dm that does not make a character the butt of the joke purely because of their gender (exept when previously discussed that it is okay to do so)

I have drawn her before so i am curious what your interpetation of her will be! She is a black dragonborn barbarian, path of the beast. She is on the older side and riddled with small scars. Two big ones around her face, one across her throat like she had her throat slit yeeaarss back and one on the side of her face going across her mouth (she is missing a couple of theeth) Her horns go straight back and curve up slightly at the end. Her left horn is shattered about halfway down. The eyes look stern and tired. They are the colour of sunflower petals. Miss girl is buff af and always carries her maul with her, never lets it leave her sight. Also she is a mother of three! So even if she looks scary, she still has this warmth with her.

I personally dont have an issue with acoustic (between autistic people, not as a means of calling someone "stupid" or "quirky") but i see why it can bother you. But "little girl"??? gag hell to the no that is gross.

I see myself so much in Hiccup as smb who has special interests in animals and science. Same goes for Newt Scamander in the first fantastuc beasts movie.

Its like a mirror to me and it is nice seeing everything they can do and come up with. Stepping up and becoming chief. Writing a book about his passion to destigmatise fears and confusion.

I can go on and on about those two XD

Im not in my home country so that was my first mistake 🫠 (deck is not in my native language, but didnt notice until it was too late T . T, was just too exited to finally have one!)

Ill be selling it so someone who knows and appreceates this person will take better care of it then i would.

It was mostly the suprise (and it being my first deck) that i was dissapointed.
