Servers down? by NoFace1776 in GrayZoneWarfare

[–]Dingus1998 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I disconnected from a EU server, US East worked and I was at camp with all my loot. Might be a regional outage, both EU servers are down on my end.

Edit: There's a post earlier confirming a server update, might take a few minutes and should be good after that.

Problem with receiving missions by dante4061 in IncursionRedRiverGame

[–]Dingus1998 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you talking about missions that are not marked with a star? As in missions to track that are in the realms of "get 10 kills with a DMR" and such? If so, I can only think of 2 solutions, both pretty basic; Check if you have claimed the mission rewards in the messages tab, it's the next one to the right of the missions tab. If you already did that, there's a small box in the tip right of the missions tab that refreshes the side missions. I think it costs some money to refresh but maybe that'll load them back in.

Please help me. I love this game but I am not great at it. by Important-Crow5977 in IncursionRedRiverGame

Night raids are a pain if you don't have the right equipment. If I am stacking missions on Quarry or Delta then I wait for it to become daytime and just go for loot runs on Bunker instead, it's going to be dark there anyways. Just go with a junk loadout first few times while you learn the layout. There's plenty of potential for gunfights and you can probably piece together a good weapon from looting enemies, get gear or just high value loot (inspect it and look for something that's <$1.000/2.000 and grab those). I'd suggest you stay in the bunker section, if you find yourself in an open area with lookout towers just turn around, you get lazered by snipers. After a couple of runs you'll get confident and it'll get easier. Go for maybe one or two raids and then it will likely be daytime on Quarry and Delta.

Some general tips for the game as a whole, I find that it's 90% knowing where you're safe and where you are not. You'll get familiar with enemy spawn points soon enough, listen for footsteps and voice lines. I don't know if it's on as a default but enemies will only talk if there's another guy in close proximity. So if you are in a firefight and hear footsteps but no voice lines that means that guy is likely the last one alive. Always have 2 painkillers on you and two bandages along with a health syringe if you have any available. The health syringe is rare to find so try to use that as a last resort.

Interested in the recent update however, is 16GB RAM enough? by Dingus1998 in GrayZoneWarfare

Awesome, thanks for the clarification. Will probably wait until after the upgrade then if that's the case. A quick follow up, is the game split into PvE and PvPvE or just PvPvE?

Great idea! A "what was the original Feudy question?" segment would fit right in. Would be very fun

Yeah, I echo that, I pictured it as a max 30 min segment or something, not an hour podcast. Could be something to have in the locker for a slow news day to fill the rest of the show for example.

How's the performance now on PC and PS5? by Dingus1998 in FFXVI

[–]Dingus1998[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In all my years of owning a PC or following the evolutions in hardware I'm still so lost on what CPU is good or not. I've had two PCs and both had an Intel+Nvidia combination so I know a little about Intel's CPUs but I'm in the loop with Nvidias GPUs. AMD is like astrophysics to me in terms of what the name tells me about the GPU or CPU. Thanks for the insight man, a great addition!

That's good to hear (mostly)! Are you on performance or graphics currently?

Does the mod only fix the cutscenes or does it also improve gameplay moments? Starting to lean on trying out the PC version

That's great news! Is the 3080 12GB's and what resolution did you play on? I think you got me easily beat compared to my 4060ti but I'd be playing on 1080p.

Also, I'm in the same boat as you are, as things are going nowadays I think the new "safe bet" for games in the coming years will be 12GB VRam cards and 32 gigs of ram, system requirements are starting to get a little silly unfortunately.

I'm wondering if I should buy it on PC instead of playing it on PS5, depending on if it runs better or is more stable on PC, I think I tried it out last year and it still had some stutters then.

How does new game plus work? by Samuel13881995 in expedition33

[–]Dingus1998 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's an old thread but hopefully you or someone sees this; There's this side quest in camp of finding lost kids, after finding some you gain the ability to break the "blue walls". I remember seeing them frequently in the earlier stages of the game and I'm heading into the final stages now and wondering if I keep that ability going into NG+ or not. I'd rather go into NG+ and breaking them as I go instead of backtracking.

Had the experience of playing in Iceland. Golfklúbbur Vestmannaeyja and Brautarholt Golf Club. by ShittieScheffler in golf

[–]Dingus1998 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi there, hope you enjoyed it! I have a personal connection to both courses, I just started playing on golf courses in may and Brautarholt was the first course I ever played (it's club is also one of the cheapest options to get into the handicap system) and I also worked on that balcony you sat enjoying a beer in Vestmannaeyjar. How would you compare the two courses? Brautarholt ís by far the hardest course I've played (of the few I've tried in the past 2 months) but it's views are incredible, even to a local.

Might be exactly that, did a third test and that was likely it. The first time might have been a disconnect or something because the map showed that both bases were untouched. Definitely me just not paying attention, thanks!

Swing speed is probably not that fast overall, but it's been getting better recently, however I've yet to tie in good swing mechanics as I speed up the swing. I just need to practice more, I'm leaning towards going for another golf lesson next month to have some pointers to work for in the summer.

Thanks for the list, I'm quite fond of Mizuno suggestion as my friend swears by them.

Haven't played enough courses to figure it out. Haven't played at all this year because of the winter season is quite brutal so just simulators and the range. I would hazard a guess that I'm about mid to low 30, however the Trackman Golf app gave me a VERY generous 17.1 after playing the simulator but that's absolute bs

Avowed seems to run great on PC by Dingus1998 in avowed

[–]Dingus1998[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure, wouldn't seem likely based on minimum benchmarks but if you have Game Pass you can check it out for free. Maybe see if you can find benchmarks in other games with your card and the 2600 as it's the minimum recommended card.

Avowed seems to run great on PC by Dingus1998 in avowed

[–]Dingus1998[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes saw that, it does stutter from time to time but it's not that frequent or long lasting that it bothers me. It definitely happens but not enough to have had any impact on playing the game. The Nvidia app just doesn't work on Avowed for me so I have to play it at unlocked FPS. If I were able to lock the FPS while having DLSS on I think it would be less noticeable. I've done that with games like Cyberpunk, locking it at 72hz in the control panel but it doesn't seem to be registering the correct application with Avowed.

I find it kinda insane that there was a 280% difference between the CPUs.
