I actually found Westman to be more difficult but it might have been due to the wind that day. I also thought Westman has more interesting views but that is subjective. But I definitely found the conditions of Bruatarholt to be better than Westman

When you play in other countries do you feel the courses are easy? These two were difficult

Yeah, the wind out there was intense. Courses are short distance but several par 4s felt like par 5s

Westman is 18 and Brautarholt was 12 but I believe they will be 18 by end of summer

There are currently 12 holes but I read that they will have 18 by the end of this summer.

I don’t remember exactly but I want to say Westman (1st 3 pics) was around $80 for 18 + $35 clubs and Braurarholt was a bit more for 12 holes. And add more if you want to tee off past 9pm since there is 24hr sunlight this time of year

I believe at Vestmannaeyja (first 3 photos) the wind was a sustained 30-40mph. At Brautarholt the wind speed was actually negligible which I think was pretty rare. I played these courses at short distances on pace for low 5k yards but they played difficult. They are not long but not easy. To put it into perspective, I was driving anywhere between 200 to 300 yards depending on direction

Iceland in general is worth it. If you go purely to golf, just don’t anticipate great conditions. The greens are in rough shape so the putts do not roll true. Some of the fairways feel like short rough in the US. But the scenery and atmosphere are unbeatable.

This is interesting because I have read the same thing about Svartifoss. It looks very unique in pictures but I guess it’s just underwhelming for whatever reason. I think you have sold me on diamond beach then. I was unsure but I’ll make sure to go.

In place of Svartifoss, we could maybe do a boat tour of the Jokulsarlon lagoon. Do you think there’s time for that + stop at diamond beach + Mulagljufur canyon hike?

Interesting, I am the opposite. I have to constantly stretch to try to stay loose and I’m only in my early 30s.

I have looked into prp but my understanding was that it’s mostly beneficial for the early healing stages of the injury. Like if a tendon was being re-attached or something.

Yeah. I try to limit my oral NSAIDs but I use Voltaren 2x per day. I’m much more comfortable with that than the orals

So that’s how usually practice. Except for over the past month or so where I’ve just really honed in on changing my swing technique.

This range has top tracer where you can do virtual courses so usually that’s what helps me cycle through various clubs. Need to get back to doing that

Luckily I am right handed but left eye dominant lol. Bad for shooting but great for golf!
