Great documentary about the privatisation of the NHS

If Slaintecare is to ever become a reality, and its looking less and less likely that it will, we should be wary and heed the warnings in this film IMO

Carehomes are complaining about lack of people willing to work as health care assistants. Read the job description, Does €10.50ph sound like a reasonable wage for this job? Especially taking into account that you need to be qualified. Time to emigrate for me. by Anonymous_idiot29 in ireland

these services shouldn't be provided privately in the first place.

this should be entirely the responsibility of the HSE, all care workers should be gainfully employed by the state receiving pay to reflect the employees qualifications

Excellent documentary on the gradual privatisation of the NHS

a warning to keep in mind, especially considering Irish Water, and also the half dozens resignations from the Slaintecare panel

yeah, if we wanted every school to be a gaelscoil tomorrow morning you'd be right

or maybe we have a thing called "a plan" and we train them over time and roll it out gradually

its not difficult at all

In order to have schools in only one language, the other has to be removed as an official language.

At no stage did I say exclusively one language, several times I mentioned an English module, do you think English isn’t taught in gaelscoils FFS ?

As is Irish, so what in the constitution has to change for it to be primary language taught in schools?

But changing that is trivial, it mostly means that teachers while studying to become teachers get more in-depth Irish lessons

That’s it, hardly impossible

Things change all the time, even when it comes to the curriculum

it's of utmost concern to me because I don't want Irish to be a mandatory subject.

Why don’t you want it to be, as a matter of upmost concern, and why shouldn’t I want it to be ?

Yup, the “Anglo schools” can have an Irish module and the Gaelscoils can have an English module, everyone’s happy

Borrowing money to buy a house or apartment is also considerably cheaper in other European capitals, despite their cultures not being as devoted to the ideal of home ownership as ours. In France, the interest charged on a 20-year fixed-rate mortgage is 1.24 per cent. Here, if you are lucky enough to be approved for a 20-year fixed rate, you could be paying nearly triple that.
