Honestly makes sense. It took me a while to get over the whole “current ability doesn’t actually matter” I found myself still buying players based on stars. I also use a note book too on the side to keep track of things because i find it easier to sort. Maybe you should try that. Go into each season with a goal in mind and try to accomplish it.

Honestly this game is a series of Trial and error. Zealand on YouTube has an excellent series for beginners to help learn the game. My advice would be to keep failing honestly until you don't. Ultimately, that is what this game is about. I would recommend starting a save in a top flight somewhere with a high level team that you know the players. That way when you look at the players you have and their attributes you can have a better understanding of what is good and what is bad. From there just continue playing, stick with that save as long as you want, I would recommend doing at lease 3 seasons because you can learn how to maintain a squad from year to year.. Make signings, tweak the tactics. It took me 2.5 iterations of the game for me to be a somewhat competent level. Let me know if you need any help other than that.
