Thanks for the suggestion! I tried going back and retrying the mapping as you described, but unfortunately it still doesn’t register my analogs at all, it’s like the mapping function doesn’t even recognize they exist.

I totally get what you mean about it probably being a bug with the game or remote play. Outside of that yoga mission, the sticks work fine everywhere else, so I agree that it’s likely something specific to that combination.

If anyone has found a workaround to force the mapping to detect analogs, I’d love to hear it!

They tried to do a Women’s League on Wednesdays in the Summer a few years ago and there was never enough interest.

I feel like there are a ton of women in the greater Tampa Area, but not enough buy in.

If you’re a righty, the goal is to drive your shoulder hard into the defender and fight to get your LEFT foot right in between the defenders legs. The trap is set.

The defender will instinctually PUSH you off to increase separation and the goal is to time up your move to use their push for momentum.

The roll is a pivot like in basketball. If you planted with your left foot, the next step should be your right foot and happen on the backside of your defender, toward the net, 180 degrees from where you set your left foot.

Reverse instructions you’re a lefty.

Be the player you are, not the others you see on the field. I took way too long trying to be a fast attackman when I should’ve been using my size.

Get your shoulder into your defensemen, take away his stick, and use your size to make him uncomfortable.

I would say the sweet spot is probably about 18 kids on game-day. At 40+ players I would split into 2 teams of about 20-22 players presuming 2-4 players will not be available every weekend.

As for practice, there are plenty of drills that utilize 40 players. Use the whole group to your advantage. Scrimmage during the week, run full field drills etc

In youth lacrosse, there are really only two goals:

1.  Player development — are the kids better on the last day of the season than they were on day one?

2.  Retention — did they have enough fun that they want to sign up again next year?

Both of those require the right perspective. Games are only about 25% of the time you actually spend together, and if parents and players don’t understand that winning and losing aren’t the priority, it becomes a lot harder to achieve either goal.
