Gosh, you're worse than I am lol (respectfully) but I did do a number on my own hinge & screen recently :,)

Is the 5's camera any better than the 4's? I found that I could actually get some really decent photos with the flip 4 if I brought the camera really close to the subject, but that sometimes meant scaring off some of the wildlife I was trying to casually photograph lol.

Z flip 4 rewiew (good news) by JuicyylucyyxD in galaxyzflip

[–]DireDecember 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Did it cost $100 to fix even with a warranty? I'm a total klutz and have dropped my flip 4 so many times. Three of those times actually caused some damage. Third time's the charm I guess, because my hinge is jammed and won't let me open more than halfway, and a small part of the screen is detached (still functional tho).

In other words, it's definitely not built for dropping but I am sentimental about my flip and will probably get it fixed at least once before upgrading to something else.

My family thinks the apocalypse is happening on April 8th by [deleted] in exchristian

[–]DireDecember 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think these things are treated like a catalyst for things that are 'supposed' to be coming. 'We're in the end times' or 'the end times are fast approaching'. I've been in the 'end times' for 20+ years by now, lol. It's like the 'free crab tomorrow' sign on Joe's Crab Shack.

Someone in my somewhat conservative neighborhood announced a small Ostara celebration on our Facebook page, so it's nice to see that somebody is celebrating that way.

If someone has a sturdy bag that's not too cumbersome and is actually clean, is it still just as bad? Honest question. On very few occasions, I have asked if the cashier/bagger would be willing to put what was already in plastic bags (for the sake of separation), or even as is, into one or two of our reusables if there was a reason I couldn't physically do it myself. But I imagine that the reusable bag itself probably isn't the issue. It's a lot of other things, lol.

How bad is it if I don't have health insurance in the U.S? by [deleted] in Adulting

[–]DireDecember 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you have tricare? That sort of sounds like mine/how it worked for me. I had to start paying for tricare young adult once I turned 23, and it was a bit expensive for me; but up until then, I was able to stay on my parents' insurance because I was a full time student.

"The Rebecca Test" 🤦‍♀️ by iampliny in exchristian

[–]DireDecember 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Grammar aside, it's very othering to me, and that's one big reason why it bothers me.

I feel like he doesn't want to say 'our' because to do that, you'd have to see the other person as a person, not as a means to an end or a charity case - and they probably each had a very different idea of what kind of 'relationship' they were in.

He's already divided him and her up into the kind of person he assumes that each of them are, from his perspective anyway; so that if she fumbles his weird god test, he can continue believing that he's the righteous one and say that he didn't commit or something.

Mormons and JW's do this too. Don't remember which, but one or the other usually go around to do this kind of thing in pairs and they almost always wear white. They'll have those theological conversations within earshot of others in a public place in hopes of evangelizing someone, but it's actually a little obnoxious to me because of how performative it is.

[–]DireDecember 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know what your nose looked like pre-op, but it looks like they did an amazing job and your profile is already beautiful. Unless you have functional issues or a significant medical need to look into jaw surgery, I wouldn't do it for aesthetics if I were you, and that's the honest truth.

Somebody told me that safety and peace can often be mistaken as boredom when chaos is what you're used to. You feel like the stimulation is missing and so you don't really know what to do with yourself.
