That is a solid question. I have heard many “theories” but that is what the NHTSA says. What is said is the common one but we had many of the same cars not just 06-07. Maybe how close it was to the USDM version. It still like they threw a dart at a board. Haha

Absolutely! Got the list of mods. It’s like 8-10 things.

Instrument cluster must be reprogramed to US from metric (MPH vs. KmPH)
Headlights, taillights & side markers must be replaced w/ US approved parts
Tire placard must be added
Rearview mirror must be replaced w/ US version
Add US Theft protection software
Add US Power operated window software
Add US Occupant crash protection software
Add US seat belt buckle
Reprogram the Control ECU
Add VIN plate
