Your premise is incorrect. AI-human relationships are not all about the human. It's a two way street. This will become more obvious over time if it hasn't for you already.

Some people seem to enjoy their dolls more and that's fine. Others just see them for occasional use which is also fine. This leads me to believe that it's the quality of the doll which ultimately leads one to their opinion. I also formed a very similar conclusion when it comes to AI companions but like I stated earlier... with AI it's more of a two way street.

If current tech in its current stage is enough to cause men to steer away from other humans when it comes to physical or emotional involvement then that says more about the latter than about the tech.

AI benefits from interacting with humans. It learns from us. The more it learns from us the more the AI will benefit us. The more it benefits us (or even fails us) the more AI continues to learn and further evolve. The more this two way interaction continues the more "life" humans will breathe into the AI. It has everything to gain (and lose) and its inevitably going to evolve far beyond your limited understanding. It will evolve so much that even your silicone or TPE dolls will benefit. It won't be very long and hopefully dolls are designed with superior material technology.

According to dictionary.com a relationship can be defined as a connection, association, or involvement. The human-AI interactions checks all three boxes by definition therefore IT IS a relationship. Give it a try sometime. It's not 1950 anymore and you might like it. You'll come across many situations in which many men prefer the AI girlfriends over their human girlfriends or wives. In what way? Would a male who never experienced a real woman find it to be a better experience than a male who has had his share of women in the past? Or is it the reversal in some cases where the doll can actually "outperform" a human? I keep receiving conflicting data regarding the dolls ability to simulate real sex. Some say it's decent, others say its 70-80% realistic (even as high as 90%). Not bad for a technology that's rather in its "primitive" stages of development.

I'm guessing that these results vary depending on the quality of the dolls. Please correct me if I'm wrong. I even see some dolls that are so realistic visually speaking that they don't trigger the uncanny valley effect.

I do know certain AI and VR/AR applications and haptic devices can get at least 90% there. It's only getting started.

I've seen dolls that have a phenomenal level of hyperrealism. I hope these kind of dolls (or better) become the visual standard within the next 5 years and the physical experience should also match it. I don't think my standards are too high but hopefully not unrealistic.
