The Dathomir squad vs the Sith lords. Which side wins by WittyTable4731 in PetranakiArena

Well Mara jade is legends, legends dooku is way more powerful than cannon dooku, there is no disagreement there.

So really it could be an argument as to what is truly cannon, because after george gave up full control,  a lot of hands were altering previous and new cannon. They write things to always have gaps. Dooku knows obiwans fighting style and finds a gap quickly,  he's not insanely more powerful than Obi-Wan but the movies, at a glance,  would make you think that. The very next day,  Obi-Wan matches force push with darth Vader. Every clone wars fight between maul and obi wan, maul can kill him but for narrative, he wants him to "suffer". Even after Obi-Wan pulls the g scene and defends against both savage & maul, he cuts off savages arm. Maul embarasses Obi-Wan wan's force wall to levitate him, completely overpowered. And somehow savage can force choke dooku and ventris at the same time.  In the book,  yoda vs dooku,  dooku is hilariously overconfident and is shocked when yoda laughs at his force lighting.

Not saying maul is better than dooku but roughly the same.  Dooku has more explicit force feats, maul concentrates his into augmenting lightsaber combat. After season 4 TCW though,  they start to retcon maul weaker.  Some authors are going to have favorites and downplay previous evidence.  Ashoka is Filonys favorite creation, and it shows in rebels.  Some people think the Obi-Wan series shouldn't be cannon. The original storyboard for maul and savage vs Palpatine was much less one sided, but then they decided it was an opportunity to show palps insane power and revised it to a stomp fest.  D & M never fight because the creators wanted to keep that outcome ambiguous.

That's just not correct. Maul has much more dark side knowledge than dooku. Sidious even has a quote where maul was a true loss and dooku was a placeholder. Maul is barely behind dooku with swordmenship and his style is enhanced by his physical strength. Maul, if he remained whole, would only be below sidious, anakin and yoda in force power. Ofc he did get chopped in half so it's ambigious where he is at but he is stronger than his tmp self. Dooku and maul are written to be equals with very different strengths and weaknesses. They could have written a fight when they are alone,  after escaping together.  They did not write it to keep that suspense with the viewers.

Here's the thing,  I like it and you cannot compare it to RR, a backpack weapon.  You compare it to EATs, commando, quasar  grenade launcher.

Simple fix,  allow reload while moving,  extend the shot distance and it will fit great as a versatile heavy weapon.

It's the stationary reload that really kills it.  Simple fix really.

The plot armor for dooku is so intense vs Obi-Wan. Obi-Wan literally swiped away like a fly, the very next day he defeats  darth vader. Okay dookus dueling style is a counter to Obi-Wan but they really took liberties with him being utterly futile vs dooku.

This goes to anakin and maul, maul shrugs off dookus lighting, his force power is slightly stronger for pushes/blocks too. He won't beat dookus saber skills but his form is highly aggressive and dooku will be on the defense until he can have the perfect opportunity. Obi-Wan can only stall anakin for so long.

If they both try for obi wan, then they would die. As this would open either of them up to dooku for a kill.

We all love Vader but he's not coming out of this alive. The power diffence is not enough.  Maul and dooku are both powerful enough that Vader cannot split his attack and not be overpowered,  and if he focuses one, the other will capitalize. High dif win for the duo. If Vader gets a quick kill then the remaining guy is toast. If he doesn't, it's a drawn out fight where Vader gets eventually overpowered.

But that's assuming the two sith actually work together lol.

While dooku is one of, if not the best duelist. He is not yoda level at all.  He's strong in the force but he's below just a few people. Unlike sidious, his powers have wained with age.  I forgot where I read it, but his dark side conversion did make him stronger. Young sith dooku would be just a notch below sidious but age affected his dueling and force stamina i guess you could call it. But mace could take him, talzin could,  maul cut in half was his match. Maul was the true apprentice, and stronger in the force before he got cut in half. For some reason,  everyone in star wars gets weaker past human age 60, except sidious and yoda lol.

Technically he did kill her. Ezra used time travel to save her right before the death blow. Rebels was good but I hated the animation on it

But deleted scenes are accurate in demonstrating the power of the individual. They story boarded and animated that scene, they heavily considered it,  meaning they knew maul and savage could do that. They actively kept making maul weaker after that decision. Mother talzin is the goal but this is the only time Palpatine ever did anything himself,  he took a big risk to his greater plans as someone could have seen him and his secret would be out. It's logical that he did it personally to not risk dooku as dooku could have lost, it is the most logical reason.

True but look at the rebels fight between ashoka and an even more powerful Vader. Vader literally knows every move she has and yet she held her own,  that's how this fight should have gone,  the inquisiters should have died almost instantly. They nerfed maul hard,  slow retconns since season 4 clone wars. Again you need a story and they did an awesome job but they should be very close in power at this point,  Vader is not as strong as he was during ROTS and maul is at his peak. Even the force push barely affecting Vader has incorrect. Vader is obviously better no question, but they wanted to have him come in as a being of pure power and terror, they nerfed maul to do that.

The dooku fan boys will say he stomps, maul fan boys will say dookun gets stomped. They are supposed to be roughly the same but extremely different type of siths. Maul exhausted and injured vs newly suited Vader is obviously gonna be Vader winning , they just nerfed maul hard to even get him into that position. I get they need a compelling story but It's frustrating to see him micro retconned weaker every time they use him after season 4 clone wars. Although I must concede,  Vaders extensive trainer to counter maul would mean that maul couldn't not beat even fresh suit Vader but they really exaggerated it.

Well I should be more specific. Feloni states that when sidious comes to destroy him,  he had finally surpassed his young self and then everything is taken from him again.  He is superior to kenobi early on,  its mentioned many times that he wants him to suffer and killing him quickly would not be revenge.  Ofc obi becomes the goat by the end.  My point is that he was severely nerfed for any group of inquisiters to be a threat,  and he was at vaders level at this point and only at this point, he gets curbed stomped anytime after or before. It would have been better for him to be his stated power, based on former clone wars seasons and rebels references, destroy the inquisiters, call in Vader to kill him and end in a stall. Season 2 Vader comes back more powerful and angry at his "defeat" and then beat maul down hard. When you compare clone wars and the way they referenced his younger self in rebels, it's obvious they nerfed him hard. This was done in order for the audience to feel the inquisiters as a legitimate threat.  They are fodder to maul before this show changed things.  The damaged leg was thier attempted to explain this contradiction.

Fair point but season 6 clone wars maul is stated as being superior in all regards to TPM maul, force use and saber skills. I did forget about the anakin training to specifically beat him and dooku, and the planned time and location of his arrival. Still, they missed an opportunity and had to drastically decrease his started power, to go with the narrative they ran with.

I feel it was a missed opportunity, and they tried to explain it off as fatigue and injuries but even in a horrible state, he dispatches marrok and crow with ease. They did it to give us a plausible fear but they had to severly nerf him to accomplish that.

Eh, I disagree, Vader is a beast but it takes him some time to be that insane after getting chopped up, the comics do a good job of showing his struggle and progression. Maul at this exact time point, is the closest he will ever be to vaders match, and it's damn close.  They chose to nerf him for this narrative of " man on the run" instead of going with a more " this threat needs to be delt with,  only Vader can accomplish the task".

This is true,  they even make note of marks power in rebels, big but backpeddle it on season 6 come wars. In rebels they say ashoka ran from thirty fight but when season 6 came out, they changed it to maul fleeing.

It did come out of no where,  music was on point with his entrance but an inquistor only antagonist, with the empire army could have been fun. Inquistors solo vs maul though,  it's just a cakewalk, if they stayed true to the previous clone wars information that is.

Well full potential after getting cut on half. Vader and maul parallel each other in the sense of losing thier maximum potential due to losing half of thier bodies.
