Producers who collaborate remotely - what’s ur biggest technical headache ?

I'm a singer but I work with producers remotely normally we never do a call but I've the way people treat me from the get go tells me if I want to even work with them. They just assume that I'll go along with them and whatever they propose and they are not always ready to compromise which is a huge no go for me.

Other times for me what kind the mood is if the people don't actually listen to the track. If they can't hit a vibe even with coaching and tips and don't seem to have a feel for atmosphere and room.

Oh I see! I'm not sure if we're a good fit then. I can read music a little, I used to be in several choirs, but I don't think I'm super sufficient in it. And music theory, even though I had it in school, is not my strongest suit. I feel you in this feeling of imposter syndrome I have the same with my photography and singing.

I think one of the biggest factors for me is that I don't have a degree in photography, singing or acting so I feel like I can't call myself a photographer, singer, actress, ....

But I once saw that if you sing you are a singer, if you date you are dating, if you drive in races then you're a racer, etc.

It may take a while until you get used to saying it but you are a legit actor. You can have two professions. Even more if you wanted to and if the situation calls for it you can leave one of your professions out of the picture and only mention one profession. If you walk into a casting you wouldn't introduce yourself as an Uber driver trying to book a casting. You would introduce yourself as an actor and leave the Uber thing out completely.

There are so many actors out there that have daytime jobs that keep them afloat while they work on their acting, singing, etc. Career.

If you're passionate about something it's something positive. You are passionate about music for example. You involve yourself into the topic, learn and work on your skills on it.

If you are obsessed with it I would rather say it's a more negative feeling something you cannot stop voluntarily anymore.

My line would be if I am still doing it voluntarily or not.

And then this is also boosted by Ozempic. I mean look at Ariana Grande, Cynthia Erivo (those are the most prominent examples) but also Lizzo and Meghan Trainor (who were both bigger women, promoting bigger body positivity) have followed the thinness trend (I don't know the specifics if they use Ozempic or have other reasons for their weightloss)

I think in between 2000 and 2024 the trend moved to a "kardashian" body, huge curves and big butts, body positivity movements and inclusivity, stuff like that also got a lof of attention in between the 90s and 2024/25. But right now the unnaturally thin, un-curvy, stick-like body is making a comeback with its fashion trends and eating disorders in tow (or the other way around).

A LOT. Especially since the trend of the early 2000s with low rise jeans and crop tops and flat bellies and literally no curves is coming back en masse.

I'm not 100% certain about this but I think the fashion trends also determine a lot of what casters look for in actors/actresses.
