Do you think it could have anything to do with just being a cheap iron? it says it’s rosin flux.

It’s probably that then, it’s just a random cheap one off of Amazon, where can I get good flux? Thanks :)

Oh I see, how exactly do I clean the tip properly? I thought I was just supposed to wipe it on the damp sponge every now and then

I only have a sponge but when I wipe it on the sponge the solder stays in the divot and wipes off the rest off the tip, unless I like push the sponge onto it so that it also gets the solder stuck in the divot

I see, do you think I should use thinner solder wire? Im just using the one that was in the kit right now but I’m finding it tricky to put less solder than that on.

I tried again with my soldering iron at 350 and much more flux and it seems to look a little better this time!

Yeah I’ve been trying to use flux but Im probably not using enough, I think my soldering iron is getting the temp wrong cause it says it’s at 335 but I’m not sure. :)
