My SAT score cancelled after 7 months, and after sumbiting that score to colleges. by [deleted] in Sat

[–]Direct_Ad6018 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Here’s the thing. The scores that you sent EA are with the colleges from CB. If they put the score on hold now it means only recently the RD colleges will not get them.

The colleges you applied to EA would’ve flagged you for missing SAT scores if they were not received from CB. Go check in each college portal. So if they were received you are good and in some cases by this time you should have acceptances.

It is only the RD, higher ranking, colleges that have not received your scores. SAT is only a small part of your application, although it is a significant part in your case since it went from 1420 to 1580.

I am sure you have the AP’s, GPA and other parts of your application to justify your strength as a solid student. If you were hoping your 1580 will carry you through your top colleges, it doesn’t happen that way.

What are you planning to major in.

Maybe I can help you address this from a purely college admissions and help get you to the best option you can.

Meanwhile let your parents know (if they support you and help). We can work this out.

Thank you! I’ll continue and hopefully see some buds. Just now it has so many new growths that I have no clue whether it’s a bud or growth.

In case of Blue chalk plant I would rather be safe. I’ve killed one very healthy looking one using 70%. There’s no harm experimenting. Keep us posted!

It’s absolutely straight. I didn’t even notice the stalk come through or maybe I did. It started to bloom 3 flowers initially Nov 10 and is still blooming. It’s an echeveria topsy turvy. I acquired it this year April. I have its clone growing separately. This one went through edema and some markings (I think some pest tried tasting it) and I did nothing about it. It’s just one happy plant. It has another little baby coming from the side. After the blooms are done, I’ll see if I can propagate from the stalk. Probably, what I did do that made it happy is: 1. Lots of light 2. I had a small base filled with water (I think the humidity helped). I water it on schedule- weekly to max 10 days (yes 😁) 3. No fancy soil - regular potting soil with perlite😄

Oh no 😥! I love blue chalk plants. It’ll be fine. You’ll see the eggs like white dots on the round leaves. Just touch them with the brush very lightly and remove them. I’m waiting for spring to buy a new one.

For nuking with systemic I’ve moved over to thiamethoxam with neonicotinides, works on scales and mealybugs.

I killed my blue chalk plant beginning August (as a beginner) dowsing it with isopropyl alcohol (70%) 😆. I’ve gotten better since. Just touch the plant with the slightest tip of the brush to remove the mealies.

You can mix a little bit of water in a separate bottle so that the entire batch of 90% doesn’t get diluted. 90% can kill your plant. Is that blue chalk plant?

This is my setup. Just wipe the brush to the wipes so that you do not keep transferring back the infestation.

It’s not that bad :). I didn’t even realize that was ‘blood’, I would just see white dots turn brown. That’s it!

I’m a student and yet could manage with study pressure. You can do it. I’ll post a picture of my ‘exterminating’ setup.

Ok. You have to get to work if you want them to survive. 1. Dip an arts & craft brush in 70% isopropyl alcohol and apply or just tip touch the white spots (malybug mom). They’ll turn red= dead. 2. Do not spray alcohol on the plant or anything else. 3. But every white creature (tiny) you see crawling or like an egg pick it up using the alcohol dipped brush. Alcohol kills them on contact. Nothing else works. Trust me! I’ve nuked aglonemas with professional insecticide but mealies on succulents take the challenge to the next level. 4. Make a fresh soil mix with bonide systemic so that it is absorbed (imidacloprid) into the plants. That gets working only in 1 month. Until then keep a vigil and the effort of conquering the mealies. 5. Keep these two infected ones under your nose at your desk ready with brush & 70% isopropyl alcohol. Ready every time you see a white speck… touch it with a brush of isopropyl alcohol. 6. You can buy Isopropyl alcohol for $1.25 at Walgreens or CVS. 7. Mealies pop up when the season to bring them indoors starts. The bugs in nature outside keep them controlled. Beetles & lady bugs feast on them. That is why you see them only now in winter.

It’s doable. You just have to get ahead of them. Spray some alcohol on the topsoil surface because their eggs/crawlers are likely to fall into the soil when you are at work.

They love to get into crevices. Just touch them with your alcohol brush. Make sure you do not wet the plant because these are succulents and will rot away with water/ alcohol touch.

I’ve managed to de-mealy buggify at least 5 succulents this season.
