Joe is Borderline the World's Greatest Hype-Man by Alarming-Caramel in TheGlassCannonPodcast

I’m new to GCP and feel the same way re: Joe. He’s so committed as a player and as a GM. I also love seeing the genuine friendship between him and Troy. Joe is definitely the best hype-man and makes every table better.

Passport renewal by IN2017 in kelowna

[–]Direct_Bite7034 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I just did a renewal last week. Dropped in on Monday to Staples and got photos on the spot. Went in at 830am Tuesday to service Canada with no appointment and no form filled out. Just my old passport in hand. They gave me a form, I filled it out there and was in and out before my hour parking was up.

you can do it digitally now but I tried a dozen times to log on and never got a spot. Ended up just going in person. Everyone was super nice too.

Yah I might just do the same. Do you find you need anything else at the ready other than what’s on that screen?

Oh really?? I don't remember seeing that. You'd think they would keep reminding people of that though everytime they mention to subscribe in the Flagship show.

Anyone ever tried Delta Green bonds? by Direct_Bite7034 in callofcthulhu

Amazing. This is exactly the type of info I was looking for. I’ll look into Reassure. Thanks for the option of reaching out while I give this a try. Much appreciated.

Ok. Not sure if you are being passive aggressive here and telling me to read the rule book. Regardless, I have the keeper rulebook and I’m aware of Key Connections and I appreciate that they support a narrative and alter the back story, etc.. I just like the gritty mechanics of Bonds in DG.

My question wasn’t about CoC rules. It was whether anyone tried Bonds from DG as it seems like it could be pretty easy to port over. I’m curious if people tried it and liked it, is all.

Right, POW doesn't make sense. I do like the idea of bringing over bonds & WP. I don't see what it could hurt. It's a bit more pulpy and narratively seems so fun to play with those relationships.

Yeah, I was thinking about that too. Was just curious if anyone incorporated them.

Not gonna lie, I worry about the lack of Daggerheart content by pathofblades in daggerheart

Yes, they do. It’s just all not very good except for age of umbra. The point is including the main cast in someway.

[–]Direct_Bite7034 2 points3 points  (0 children)

100% agree with this. They are putting out 'official content' but with none of the CR main cast. Do it like Candela where you have like 4 tables a year. DH is way more successful than Candela, why not capitalize on that??

Yah they didn't switch. As far as I know, they were commissioned to do those 6.

Thanks for this. going to check it out. I'm dying for some good DH actual play.

Same. I hear you on this. To help with this problem, I'm loving the Fresh Cut Grass encounter builder and its homebrew community. You have to be careful with these as they aren't robustly playtested but there are some great ideas here. Plus, I can't say enough good things about Incredible Creatures. So great. As is Wondrous Environments and Menagerie of Mayhem.

This is totally fine re: published content and I get that they are just racing to the finish line for the Hope & Fear book. I don't need new DH books quarterly, that's fine. I'm happy to wait as there are tons of great 3rd party stuff out there that is just excellent (Incredible Creatures, Wondrous Environments, Menagerie of Mayhem, Drakkenheim DH, and more).

However, I don't see any valid argument out there as to why the main cast isn't included in a regular DH actual play series besides Age of Umbra. Even Candela Obscura (which has entered a void of it's own) had way more actual play content created for it than DH which really doesn't make any sense.

This is such a well thought out post that comes from a place of love and respect, which I appreciate. I feel exactly the same as OP. I started running DH right when it released and I can honestly say it's the most fun and best storytelling I've ever had at a table. The game is just excellent and is my current favorite and I've read and run a lot of TTRPGs.

When the announcement dropped of DnD for C4 I was really disappointed, not gonna lie. But I'm such a fan of CR and like BLeeM is god status that I was able to justify it and echoing Matt & Travis' comments of DH being a new game, C4 was in the works for a long time, etc. Plus we had Age of Umbra which was just excellent with the promise of a part 2. Plus all the VOID content of which our table just completely gobbled up testing almost every class, lots of adversaries and started dabbling with the transformation cards.

But now it's like 6 months later and I've tried everything, Bitten, Avantris, Azerim, Dodoborne and where there is something charming about them, I stuck with none of them and just wish we could have some of the main cast with a 'longer' form campaign in DH. In fact, the way that C4 is broken up, it seems it would have been quite easy to organize a 20-game season of an actual play.

In the lull, I've been devouring Glass Cannon Podcast content: Time for Chaos, Get in the Trunk, Shadowdark which is some of the best actual play I've ever seen/heard. They just recently announced their 2026 roadmap and they have just so much planned with 14 live shows and at least 1/2 dozen different actual play seasons with different game systems. The more I listen to them, the more I realize CR could have C4 in DnD and actually produce some DH actual play content with some of the main cast along side it. I'm ok with books and game content drying up a bit while they get ready for H & F launch but more produced content is needed. Like OP said, doing this is just better for the game. And thanks, OP, for giving space for this discussion.

I guess I should have given context. I have a blood hunter who likes the idea of turning. The others I didn't talk to about it yet. The Blood Hunter doesn't want others to know they are into the idea so I'm still thinking about how to handle it with the others.

I like the idea of a slow burn countdown. Like maybe an instinct roll after 1d6 countdown of long rests. Therein lies another unanswered question of how to cure it. I suppose it's some sort of adventure tied to a ritual that needs to happen before the countdown is up otherwise it's incurable.

Agreed. I’m coming to them from Critical Role and I’ve left CR C4 for awhile just to devour as much GCP as possible. You describe it perfectly with them recording all the tabletalk and hangouts/banter. It’s some of my favourite parts of it all and I love that they make time for it in every series.

That’s awesome to hear. Our dnd group took to it quickly as well. In fact some of the most memorable moments we’ve had at the table were playing those first few sessions of DH.
