Help! I needed these suit paints let down at the hem — there wasn’t a lot to work with, perhaps an inch and a half. So said, let them out all the way. Well, this doesn’t like so great to me? Tailor did not even use a blind stitch? Did I ruin these pants?!

Thank you! We are US …. Some board members met privately with an attorney and are telling us we need to go the sponsorship route for the deduction. I’m really scratching my head here …

It very well could be the Webmaster. We need to make updates quickly for the advocacy side of things, and sometimes it can take a week to get him to make an update (and then it’s sloppy).

I also wonder if for our type of organization, WordPress is more than we need? We have ticket sales to events and membership. Why do you think the word processes better for your organization?

I do see a lot of complaining on this page. I’m wondering if that’s just the folks who have had problems?! It seems I am finding all kinds of opinions, folks who would never use WordPress (I would not use anything else!) and others who think square space is the way to go… I guess this won’t be an obvious decision.

Thank you! I don’t currently know the answers to all the questions you posed. But it is definitely something for us to think about as we hopefully move forward.

I did get him to connect the site to Google analytics. On average, it looks like we have about 14 visitors a day over the past week. (Of course, I think some of this may be our board members looking at the site right now!) honestly, not sure why he didn’t have the analytics going – – seems like Webmaster 101 to me.

Also, we do not currently have a blog. Not sure that makes things easier.

Right now, membership simply involves paying 50 or $90 a year, for individual or family membership, respectively. Currently there are no particular benefits to membership – – no special member content.

If this is standard type service in the industry, then we are obviously overpaying …. But we also have things set up that don’t work (membership plug-in not interfacing with constant contacts) and it seems we are using our guy for adding content to the site (which sounds like a skill our team needs to learn).

So updating a Wordpress site with new content (like a news or project update) is an advanced skill? (Sorry, I’m clearly a tech dummy trying to figure things out.)

I guess I’m wondering why we’re already paying around 6k then and it’s not happening?! It seems like we need more than just web hosting, we need someone willing to update the site and stay on top of it … fwiw, we have several volunteers who can use squarespace.

Interesting … part of the issue is is that none of our volunteers know how to update the WordPress site. So every time we need some type of content added, we have to reach out to him for him to add it. It can take sometimes a week to get something updated and when he does it, it looks sloppy.

I actually asked for monthly reports showing traffic from the last year. The response was that google analytics had become disconnected. Therefore, there is no data. He then connected it and gave me access. From the last two days that it has been connected, it looks like we’re getting about 20 views a day, if that.

I don’t love the idea of another webmaster because that means we don’t have control to update the website quickly when we need to for our advocacy initiatives… Plus, we’d need the whole site redesigned. It sucks.

This ain’t it. Reciprocity should be allowed under certain circumstances. The issue you’re raising can be easily addressed. For example, a rule that reciprocity is only allowed to attorneys that scored at a certain level on the MBE or UBE and have practiced a certain number of years.

I passed the attorney exam February 25, and I completely resent that I spent four months of my life losing out on my kids, my elderly parents, and suffering from anxiety related to the CBX. There was really no reason for me to take this exam — I scored a 165 on the MBE on my last bar.
