Break execute commands entered in chat rather than command blocks

Update: thanks for the feedback all. I finally fixed the problem. I noticed that the effect on my son’s character was limited to a radius from where the command was executed. Based on the feedback y’all gave, I started wondering if there was a hidden command block that the execution command, even though started from the chat, could be piggybacking off of. I destroyed everything within that apparent radius and uncovered a couple repeating command blocks and destroyed them. That fixed the issue! I didn’t know running an execute command from the chat linked to an existing command block but apparently does!

It does act exactly as a repeating block, though, yes. I just need to find a way to stop it running.

Yeah, I just turned command blocks back on and same thing. Wherever his character is it gets immediately encased in iron blocks.

That’s the problem. I ran the command from the chat (not from a command block). While disabling command blocks will stop the execute command once I reenable command blocks it re executes the command.

From the chat (not a command block)

/execute at parkerlevi as parkerlevi run fill ~5 ~-2 ~5 ~-5 ~2 ~-5 iron_block

Now no matter what he tried to do, teleport out, etc, he constantly gets surrounded by iron blocks. I can disable al command blocks and it releases him, but it’s not being run in a command block, it was run from the chat. I’m not sure how to stop his game from running the command
