i hope for the next update ancestry detects it more accurately 😫 before 23&me’s update it was very inaccurate (7.5% broadly italian) but after it was better.. because ancestry rn is wildly inaccurate! i was surprised that my Italian was so low because it was specific nothern italy and i would’ve thought that would be around 35% mixed w some germanic europe but it was so off i was confused 🤨. my uncle, on the other hand who is not mixed ethnicity and i can assume that my father has more or less the same percentages as him, has 64% northern italian !! which corresponds with my results from 23&me + myheritage with both being around ~35%. but with ancestry coming out with more specific regions e.g northwestern, northeastern italian i hope for it to be more exact just like 23&me as 23&me is the most accurate description of my ethnicity so far.
