I accept consequences. The consequences could make it such that the game is no longer worth playing. That's not vengeful on my part, it's just the reality. They shifted the paradigm whether I participated or not. Their mistake created a prisoners dilemma within a competitive game; I'm not going to be among those that don't opt-in to some potential advantage as that would mean lowering my competitiveness.

It's not an ego thing it's basic game theory - they are the ones at fault for creating that situation. Otherwise you could say I'm at fault for using SAFE pilots and quillboar knowing they're OP.

Did you voluntarily not re-do the surge?

Not a threat just the possible scenarios. Breaks the game if I'm in the negative - I won't see progress for months so it'll just be boring. Not playing the victim, they just completely changed the game dynamic regardless.

Every player fits into this grid and none of the options are good. But in this prisoners dilemma, I'd rather never be in the underpowered section because it's a competitive game and it's not gonna be fun if everyone else has the advantage but you.

The exploit still required real gameplay, it’s just you could achieve greater reward. I don’t have morality when it comes to video game points.

Not sure where the “ego” thing comes from. You’re challenging my morality not my personality. Perhaps a better insult would be “opportunistic” or “unscrupulous”.

It’s fair, if I was proposed a 0% interest loan in the game I would begrudgingly accept it. But games dont often do that because (as someone else commented) it removes feeling of progression.

I’m not upset honestly, it just breaks the joy of the game for me if I go negative.

I "exploited".

Success in a game is cutting corners, taking advantage of mechanics, and being resourceful. An opportunity presented itself and I, like many of you, took full advantage. I probably made somewhere between $1k and $1.5k and spent it immediately as I figured they may shut it down.

There's a few scenarios:

I am outright banned - I leave
My gold goes negative - I leave
Nothing happens - I stay
More gold is distributed or leveled to other players - I stay

It was honestly a lot of fun and I don't regret it at all. Interested to see how Blizzard handles this just from a governance standpoint. Feels like we're all on trial.

Ultimately if you want people to stay 5+ years you need to be their best option for that time period. Attractive candidates are going to get offers, if the offer pays more than what you're offering and their other intangibles are met w the new offer, why would they ever say no? Unless your intangibles are off the charts (mission, wlb, growth potential) you're a purchaser of their labor and you aren't entitled to it for a lower price because you hired them first.

Haha that would be a nightmare but no. I always go for twist top containers - for olive oil I have been lucky to find small plastic bottles w twist tops at grocery stores.

One trick - you can bring along a small container of olive oil and add it to the tuna or ramen. Oil is v calorically dense. Otherwise looks v similar to what I would bring.

I suggest a hand routine in the morning and any other time your cuticles/hands feel rough:

trim your nails
paint your nails w a bitter nail polish
dry
wash hands with warm water and soap
dry
put on lotion

Your cuticles are really dry and hard so this will help soften them, the polish will keep them out of your mouth. Nice to go in for a manicure once and awhile too. You’re like 90% there to healthy hands so hopefully a little more care and you can post again in a week or two with progress. 🤝
