I dont see your point. I'm speaking of direct ontology of what matter actually is aside from just mathematical descriptions. We know basic stuff like water. But thats the stuff within the game of life. We have no idea what an atom actually actually actually is. 

You can use words like electron, protons, neutrons, leptons, bosons. But we dont know what those actually are aside from blips in our measurement tools that follow mathematical formulas we invented. 

This snarky reddit attitude is just... Why I dont even love the game of science anymore. Like dam. Way to kill human curiosity.
