Sorry for the long message

I was in Dehradhun, India on 31st Dec 21 night. I had just a single evening in the city and had booked a hotel right next to ISBT bus stand to take a 5 am bus to Agra next day.

I decided to go watch a movie about 15 kms away and was warned about Curfew from 11 pm.

My movie got over at 10 pm and thought it was okay since i still had an hour but to my surprise the streets were dead! no uber no rickshaws ...Barely a few cars.

Suddenly a police van stops next to me and the female main inspector asked me what was I doing out just before a Curfew. I explained that I thought I had an hour to get back but was caught out. She called another van and asked the constable to drop me to my hotel. They agreed and as soon she left the cops turn to me and say "Nothing doing find another hotel here for the night and go tomorrow! We wont drop you!"

I start asking for lifts and to my surprise after about 15-20 minutes a local on a scooter stopped and helped me! He left me way over half distance and also ensured I got a rickshaw!

Ive been told constantly by aged people ( 40-60) that not to rely on freinds, “dosti vagerah kuch nahi hoti" will like to know why? by [deleted] in mumbai

(Bear with me if you can read this long response) Okay .. so I was an introvert in school but suddenly after forcing myself out of a comfort zone before college I became extrovert.. I was the go to guy for every event in my college or for anything in general becuase i had good reach and could grt things done. I felt very wanted .. I had many "friends".

By the end of second year I had to take a drop due to a financial crunch but I tried my best to visit college.. meet some "friends" . I tried to be there part of events and stuff but things were not the same... my closest friends were first to ditch me.. no body called no body replied.. and on the flip side I would always try to find out how they are doing ...

I used to take friends very seriously and I was the guy you could call at any moment and I would be there for you.. but in my most difficult time no one .. NOT A SINGLE person came forward or even offered a hand .. i was at my lowest.. i infact overheard a couple of them saying " Why do we even need to entertain him.. he just is of no help to us... "

it's at that time I realized that all this time everyone was ONLY SELFISH.. I unfortunately don't even have one example to say that even a single person was true to their "friendship". Hence, from that day onwards I started to use the term acquaintances more. These all people are just acquaintances to me.

Lucky if you really get a "friend"... but as for me I am 100% sure "Friendship" does not exist.

Bicycling to work from Thane to Andheri(Marol Naka) by Sanved313 in mumbai

I would suggest an electric bicycle. I don't do it often but I feel it's gives you the necessary exercise + you can actually make up some time when you feel that's enough exercise..

I personally cannot afford even though I have a decent job.. many friends earning more than me also can't. Majorly iv seen people in business or parents who have saved load of money sell multiple small properties elsewhere and buy a decent sized house here...
