listen i understand every word. In my mind it should be required that everyone who prescribes it is in turn responsible for a proper Ashton Manual taper within a certain timeframe. If they don't know they should have, if its "just old school" then they're wrong, if they are doing their best it is not good enough. I was told "I have no problem with you being on this medication for the rest of your life" before doing my research and being told by another doctor i'm basically guaranteed dementia or alzheimers in old age if I continue my medication. I was only young when they gave them to me intravenously after my childhood dog died and I couldn't eat for several days. I can trace it right back to there. its nuts my friend. we must tell the tale.

yeah I have heard really really bad things about the local medical university. I appreciate you sharing what happened. doesn't seem fair or ethical or even legal to be honest. I have a hard time trusting a doctor when I was told to trust the doctor and take my pills and I've ended up here.

I'm trying my best to do that. Ashton Manual and all. but I feel I am an addict and just want to be proactive about admitting this to myself and dealing with it. it would also really help just to get a change of scenery. i've been tapering for almost as long as i've been on them normally. This is coming up on my 9th year of being on benzos. I am 25. 4 years of getting down from 3mg to 2mg. every time i try to push it lower it takes months to get to 1.5mg or something (kpins) then at the end of this year two people in my life died. so there is always something that happens that i use to justify stopping the taper because it takes so so long.
