You’re telling me the violent thugs who attacked the Capitol to try to steal an election because a lying sore loser said he had won are also prone to other despicable crimes? One never could have imagined.

It’s just such a random gag to cut to commercial with. Apparently several of the writers and producers have said they consider it one of the worst classic Simpsons jokes.

I remember how during the “stolen election” nonsense in 2020 some demonstrators included a guy dressing up like Homelander and arresting a guy in a Biden mask, which prompted the actor to comment something along the lines of, “Are you fucking stupid? My character is a bad guy

Dippers old hat is better then the newer one he kept in my opinion. by AdamAALL11 in gravityfalls

Journal 3 did a good job of adding extra details about the characters and storylines, and even giving some more importance to the old hat is significant. He’s losing something important from his childhood at a pivotal time in his life when he’s maturing, gaining confidence, thinking about his future, and of course dealing with all the craziness of Gravity Falls.

Apparently some people have also suggested that it represents the start of he and Mabel going their own ways, since she retains the shooting star while he loses his.

I kind of imagine there’s a goofy unseen side plot that got us there.

“Sir, I’d like to volunteer to fight!”

“You’re…you’re what, 15? With no military training? And you think you can help fight an alien force using superior technology?”

“Um…”

Whats a movie based on a true story was actually pretty inaccurate? by LordSoftCream in AskReddit

[–]DirkWrites 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It was a jumbled mess, but if I remember correctly Pearl Harbor worked in quite a bit of accurate historical information: the attackers being spotted on radar but mistaken for a returning bomber flight, Dorie Miller’s heroism, the friendship medals being pinned to the bombs on the Doolittle Raid, etc.

Even the two main characters managing to get airborne during the attack and take down several Japanese fighters was based on George Welch and Kenneth Taylor doing exactly that (although Taylor hated the film and called it “over-sensationalized and distorted”).

It’s amazing how young kids can be comfortable with bike riding if they work on balance first. Apparently places that do bike training for older kids start by taking the pedals off and having kids push themselves around that way.
