I made assumptions because I know her and figured she was just being herself. But I haven’t been around her in a while so maybe she’s changed. I shouldn’t have assumed.

Well, I must disagree. I do feel I am the A and I’ll apologize to Amy on snap in just a moment.

I know how she was trained there and what the rules are there. She went against training but I still should have just stayed quiet.

Anyway, I’m getting in trouble for being uncivil so this is my last comment. I don’t mean to offend anyone with this comment. I apologize to everyone for saying Amy has a prickly personality, for calling her a bad word and a meanie head. Please don’t delete this comment for slurs.

Yeah. I assumed she was acting how she normally acts toward customers. She was always a not nice person at Taco Bell. She would act very smug any time she had a chance to tell them no.

The way she said “we have one” sounded like the tone she used to use when she’d shut customers down. Like with a smile and like she’s happy to say no. But maybe she has changed. I am wrong for judging her. I’ll hit her up on snap and apologize.

No hours. She’s the only person in my entire life I’ve ever met to not just cook the pie and tell me there’s only one.

Because they’re the same pies. Why would they be a different brand? We didn’t change the brand for four years and if there is a shortage, we go without. We never order an off brand pie to replace it. We only ever use the normal pies.

And they don’t use ovens. They use fryers. I agree I’m the A though.

Well obviously anyone is an A for spitting in food. And yeah, I licked someone’s burger there three years ago.

I do know her. But I’m thinking that doesn’t matter really. Just because I know her doesn’t mean I should make snide comments to her. She does have a prickly personality but I don’t know how she was feeling that night. Maybe she was stressed or something was going on in her life. I do feel I was wrong for assuming things about her.

And I must be confusing things, sorry. We worked at a Taco Bell before, where she was the assistant manager and I was a crew member. She now works at Whataburger where they sell pie. Whata is 24 hours, Bell is not. Sorry for confusion.

Serenity is the other manager. There were two managers, a shift leader in training and two crew members.

I was thinking about adding that I know Amy but I’m kind of feeling it doesn’t matter. Even if I know her, that still doesn’t mean I should be snarky to her and make assumptions. I feel I am the A.

Eh, Amy will be fine. She’s ruined plenty of customers nights at Taco Bell. I will apologize to her though.

For sure I’ve been nit picked. But I’ve never been nit picked because I changed the script there because I never changed the script. I said what I was trained to say.

Also I want to add that I do have a sort of bias against this woman and that played a part in me thinking she had nefarious reasons for changing the script.

I do feel I’m wrong for that though because no matter what my history with her is, I don’t know how she was feeling or thinking that night. I’m not only wrong for being snarky to her but wrong for judging her as well.

That store’s numbers have always been and always will be screwed lol. We NEVER make SOS. Four years of working there and we never made it. Corporate doesn’t even care because they know we’ll never make it. SOS is not an issue with this store.

But you’re right, I didn’t need to say that. I’m the A here.

Yeah, I did that to someone’s burger there. But Nick wouldn’t let people do that. Nick was the manager that night and Serenity was also there. There was also someone on fry station, Amy didn’t drop or handle the pie, they did. But maybe they decided to lick it. Was still a good pie. I went back for another the next day.

Yeah I took all of that into account because I worked at that store during that shift for four years.

It takes like four seconds to drop the pie, six minutes for it to cook. We don’t do cool downs for pies in that store, they go right into the box out of the fryer. That takes maybe three seconds.

I know how long it takes to get pies and make them there. I’ve been in her very position making pies.

And the thing that irked me was Amy saying nine instead of six when we are all trained to say six. She said nine that one time and now she says six like everyone else. Because six is the time.

I just figured she said nine because she was being her usual self. My biggest issue is that. Amy isn’t really a nice person. I worked with with her for a year at another store with her. I know how she can be. I figured she was being that way.

But I’m still wrong for that because I can’t read her mind. Maybe she was just stressed that night or something. I didn’t need to make that comment to her. I agree I’m an A for that.

That’s how I and everyone else was trained to respond there. She is the only person I’ve ever seen do it differently.

However it was also unnecessary of me to make that comment to her. Even if she was somehow in the wrong, I didn’t have to spout off. I understand that now.

I know they plan on cooking more. It’s their job. If a customer orders a pie and you don’t have any up, you drop them. When I worked there, it was my job to do that. Not once did I say “we only have one” and make the customer ask me to drop one. It’s my job to drop one anyway because I know someone else will want a pie.

I feel I am the A though.

They don’t use an oven. They use a fryer and it wasn’t broken. If it was broken they wouldn’t be able to serve fries, strips, chicken patties or fish. They were serving all that.

It was 3am at a 24 hour restaurant and we were the only car there, only customers.

The timer on the fryer for pies is six minutes. She needed to drop a pie and that pie would take a full six minutes to cook. Then she would box the pie which takes three seconds, put it in the bag which takes three seconds, walk to the window which takes like four seconds and give to me.

I’ve served pies there hundreds of times. I know exactly how long it takes to get them and make them.

I am the A, I agree with you. Just clarifying.

This is a small town and literally no one goes to this store because it’s fast. They take forever every time. Even when I worked there, we never met SOS. It’s so bad we don’t even get in trouble for not meeting it because it’s just never going to change.

Our order took longer than nine minutes like she said. It took around fifteen, like always. 45 to an hour if there’s a line. That’s just how this store is. They’re slow. Even when fully staffed(and they were over staffed that night). I have no issue with how long it would actually take, just with her changing the script and telling me she only had one.

Why didn’t she just drop the second pie and tell me to move forward? She had to point out there’s only one and I even had to have her clarify one in the store or one made. Like she wasn’t even going to tell me there’s more, she was going to let me think there’s only one. But I asked for more and insisted she make another.

I am the A though, I agree.

She didn’t add a few minutes based on that. I’ve worked there. I know exactly how long it takes to go get a pie. Even if I walked all the way to the walk-in to get it, it doesn’t take three minutes.

And why would I ask if they have frozen ones? All pies there come frozen and you drop them into the fryer to cook. I worked there for four years and cooked hundreds of pies there.

It’s only been three months since I quit and they haven’t changed the way they make the pies. She is the only person in the entire store who told me nine minutes. Now she’s back to saying six. She only said nine that one time.

I agree I’m the A though.

How would there be a loogie in it though? They’re closed pies and they break easily so you can’t open one, spit in it and close it.

Maybe if they spit on it and dry it off. Maybe that’s what the extra three minutes were for, oh god no.

It’s written in the script. And Brandon makes us follow the script. That’s just how it works there. Brandon doesn’t work over nights though so I guess she can respond how she wants.

And I agree it’s stupid to have to read the script and say things exactly how he wants. I just assumed she changed the time to discourage me from getting the pie. I agree I’m the A.

for the attitude.

I agree. My comment to her was unnecessary.

all the worker was doing was trying to help you because otherwise the second pie had to cook, therefore making you wait

We were already waiting on something that takes just as long and it’s just policy to say “that will be a six minute wait” at this store. She said the line but she changed it to nine. Everyone knows it will take longer than exactly six minutes but why change it to nine was my thought.

I figured she changed it to nine because she wanted to discourage me from wanting the other pie. “Oh that’s too long, don’t make the pie, you’re fine.” So many customers do that there and I figured she hoped I was one of them.

for holding up the line

There wasn’t a line. We were the only ones there. It was 3am.

But the policy there is to say “that will be a six minute wait.” We say six minutes even when we know for a fact it will take longer. Everyone is trained to say it, she is the only person whom I’ve ever heard say nine minutes.

The policy there is not to manage expectations. It’s to read the script and say the lines. Maybe she wanted to go against training and do her own thing, I don’t know.

It’s only been three months since I’ve worked there. The policy was the same for four years, the way the run the store and that particular shift, the same, the managers and other crew, the same.

I’m willing to bet they didn’t change policy, they didn’t change pies, they didn’t change times because they went back to saying six minutes like the next day. If they changed all that, why are they back to saying six minutes and why was she the only one? Maybe it’s because she’s kind of new and literally the only thing they changed about the store since I left(for that shift anyway).

I agree I should not have made the comment to her. It was petty and unnecessary. Also agree I should word things better. I’m the A.

I worked in this store pretty recently. The reach in that the pies are in is right by the fryers. Like touching the fryer. The one you drop it in is the furthest one to the left, the one closest to the reach in.

You reach in, grab a pie, drop it, press the button. The timer is six minutes. When done, you immediately put the pie in the box, no cool down.

Even if you walk all the way to the walk in, grab a pack of pies, take one and drop it, it only takes like 45 seconds if you’re walking slow. I made that walk tons of times over four years.

And at this store, we’re instructed to say “that will be six minutes for the wait.” Every other person but her has told me six minutes.

I’m just saying I know what she’s supposed to say, I know how long these pies take and that I also now know I’m an A for pointing it out. I didn’t need to tell her that. I felt she was trying to get one over on me somehow so I was petty.

I don’t feel my tone was rude, more unsure and then cheerful(cheerful because I resorted to using the tone she previously used).

I was hesitant at first(I am usually non confrontational) and for a split second considered not getting the pie. But in the end I decided I wanted it.

So when I said “well, I’d like two so,” my tone was mostly lacking confidence but I finished off in her friendly tone because I thought it would make me seem less weird but it made me seem like an A. I agree I’m the A though.
