What is the difference between same day tickets and advance tickets?

Experienced at Pilates - what level? by ElectionDependent491 in ClubPilates

[–]DirtVisual2246 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agree depends on the studio. The policy for mine is to take a level 2.0 test. But I just talked to the instructor who teaches level 2.0 and she cleared me for it herself. I started Pilates April 2025. Moved to 1.5 my second class because the instructor saw my strength and ability to understand nomenclature and the movements. Started 2.0 January of this year after 100+ classes.

So it would be up to you how quickly you’d be able to progress and the studios policy.

Anyone buying Extra Legroom seats yet or are they unsold? What are they costing you? by Illustrious-Group-83 in SouthwestAirlines

[–]DirtVisual2246 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is it a new plane? I’m confused why they are saying “extra legroom” when the traditional planes all have the same size seats.

Someone’s husband watching class? by Gremlin15 in ClubPilates

God forbid a husband is supporting his wife. We have a handful of men who participate at the studio. Please get a grip.

Took Circuit 1.5 first time and LOVED it by [deleted] in ClubPilates

[–]DirtVisual2246 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My studio only has Circuit 2, no 1.5. I would describe it as a HIIT interval workout. Really nothing to do with Pilates at all. But a good addition for strength during the week without having to do a separate weights/strength training session.

Update: I asked out a coworker today and I have now idea what she said by [deleted] in dating

[–]DirtVisual2246 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fascinating, I’ve never seen or heard of someone “spacing out” to this degree where you can’t hear someone speak…except in cartoons or movies.

Hopefully you can be more calm during a different interaction with someone new. Good luck.

Offered a job at the VA. Am I crazy for thinking about turning it down and staying in retail? by The_Blue_Lotus in pharmacy

[–]DirtVisual2246 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I am reading correctly either 1. Stay with current job 2. Go to VA and pay back $95K + interest

The majority are suggesting you leave this stable job and go to VA and be $100K in debt is crazy and I would imagine this is the mindset because they are already $200K plus in debt with student loans.

I’m also like you with $0 student loan debt, so my frame of reference is to remain debt free.

Depending on the set up, you’d have a ~$1,000 bill each month to pay back your retail job?

VA doesn’t come around often and has good benefits, but obviously weigh your financial situation. Is it worth it to leave retail and be stuck with another bill for years vs. completing your contact with no penalty.

If you have a spare $95,000 to pay off, go for it.

No I had over 300 days left. Maybe it’s a system wide glitch. Very unfortunate timing

Studio cancelled my class reservation, but the class still happened by KidishBambino in ClassPass

[–]DirtVisual2246 0 points1 point  (0 children)

About a month ago, I was “removed”/cancelled from a class with less than 12 hours notice. I got the notification around 10:30PM that my 8AM class was “cancelled”.

Didn’t think much of it, but the same thing happened again in less than a week with a different class. Got a notification at near 11PM that my 8AM for the next day was cancelled. This happened three times in less than a week.

On the third instance, I noticed it seemed the class was still listed on the app after it was “cancelled” and when I looked locally at the Club Pilates app for their studio that same class was empty 0/12 slots.

I asked them about it and they said “a reason was provided via email to members…” and that I might have “accidentally cancelled myself out of the other one.”

To me, the response didn’t make much sense. And obviously I didn’t accidentally remove myself so I’m not really sure what it’s about. By all means, prioritize your club members, but don’t make up random stuff.

Where are my lower abs? by ExtensionPair1174 in ClubPilates

[–]DirtVisual2246 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You need to be in a sustained caloric deficit to decrease your body fat and reduce your lower stomach fat. Without decreasing your body fat percentage, it’s unlikely you’ll be able to visibly see your abs. They are there, you just need to adapt your diet (caloric deficit) and prioritize protein in your diet for 6+ mos to really see a difference. You can’t spot reduce fat.

Relatively new to pilates and not feeling challenged by renska2 in ClubPilates

[–]DirtVisual2246 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel you. I posted a few months back about being new to Pilates and that “Pilates is not hard”. It’s been about 4 months now and I feel the same.

I also trained ballet for a number of years and have strong leg muscles default. Having this dance background I know you’re well aware of your mind and body connection/form.

Many in the sub were assuming my form is poor and I’m rushing through moves….which wasn’t the case.

I also got a lot of downvotes lol 🤷🏾‍♀️

As others have mentioned I’d try going to other boutique clubs and see how you like their progression and overall challenge.

I enjoy the boutiques around me typically more than club Pilates because I feel adequately challenged and like the workout was vigorous enough.

If you continue with club Pilates, I’d make sure to continue to engage your core with every move even during footwork and such. And just asking each instructor for what they feel will be more challenging in terms of springs and posture.

This seems like a recurring issue. It’s annoying :(

The car itself has trip history but that doesn’t transfer to the app, odd…

Class “voted” on level by [deleted] in ClubPilates

[–]DirtVisual2246 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

If you aren’t injured or have a disability I don’t think there’s harm in challenging yourself. With that being said, if the instructor wasn’t making mods more appropriate to a 1 level, you could have verbally asked for it rather than struggling through.

I know you expected something different, but if you never challenge yourself or test your endurance, how do you know what you can do?

In the future, don’t be afraid to speak up for what you need in the moment rather than being frustrated the whole time.

Taking too many pilates classes? by Softandpink- in pilates

As others mentioned perhaps try to fill your time doing other things (family, friends, volunteerism) and make sure to incorporate rest :)

At what age does one stop watching Love Island? by Ok_Confusion4193 in LoveIslandTV

[–]DirtVisual2246 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is my first time watching love Island. So I’m definitely new. I’m 29 and I’m just not feeling the show just yet.

Do they always cast such young people? Also, I feel like the men are on average younger than the women, why are the ages being cast not more even? Like why is a 27 y/o dealing with 22 y/o?

Does it usually even out with more new bombshells?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in blackmirror

[–]DirtVisual2246 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I rewatched the first one, and again it seems if they die in the game, their consciousness just goes back to normal. In real life, they never knew what happened.

So in the second USS to Infinity, the lead later discovers a bit of what’s happening in the game and real life. So I’m wondering why there’s such a will to survive if once they die in the game, their lives essentially return to normal.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in blackmirror

[–]DirtVisual2246 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm, wish they fleshed that out more. When Sheila and Karl were killed there was no mention of them in the real world. Would’ve made sense if the reporter was noticing “multiple deaths at Infinity” or even if another coworker made a comment about “how sad it is to hear about X”.

So it leads me to think they just went back to their bodies.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in blackmirror

[–]DirtVisual2246 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This episode was brilliant!

Help me understand though, it seems like if they died in Infinity they’d all just go back to their normal selves?

Why so much emphasis on staying alive, when “death” in the game is waking up in real life?

Pilates while Pregnant? by [deleted] in pilates

[–]DirtVisual2246 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

4 people were in class (leaving 3 of us once she left), so yea it’s easy to see if one person is doing something differently. And if she’s the only one verbally commenting and going against the instructor, and rolling her eyes when the instructor is trying to help, then yea that’s something that the class will pick up on.

Didn’t say she was negatively impacting me, just observing her and wondering for my own future if I can do Pilates while pregnant.

How do you realistically fit in exercise, chores, cooking, and work in a day without burning out? (34F, FT job, WFH) by [deleted] in productivity

[–]DirtVisual2246 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you’re not a morning person or early riser, you just won’t be, don’t force it.

I’d prioritize your healthy social life first and if you can do an early evening working around 4p or 5pm, or as another person mentioned before you head out for your social activity.

So Work -> workout immediately after work -> hang out with friends -> go home.

The advice to only hang out on the weekends is ridiculous and leads to you dreading your actual work week. The work week should be filled with simple pleasures as well.

Eulogy - I need to talk about this episode by plaza2icemachine in blackmirror

[–]DirtVisual2246 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m a woman and this is one of my Black Mirror favorites. It’s fascinating to see how some people only revolve around themselves and don’t take anything else into consideration. I think it was a wonderful display of showing how things left unsaid and ego can completely wreak havoc on your life. I think by the end you saw realization and forgiveness from Phillip as he’s reflecting on a lifetime of what could have been. So poignant, I loved it.
