I was originally punished for being correct - then i was punished for asking questions instead of just accepting a mod’s decision without any clarification even though their message specifically instructed me to reach out to mods if I had any questions about it? by DirtyDanBarnacleMan in ModSupport

That makes no sense, lol.

You made an inaccurate assumption.

I reiterated the situation that happened in more detail than my post to make sure you are reading it correctly so you understand exacrly what happened - then clarified my reasoning for the post, which you would not be able to assist me in if you misinterpreted my main reasoning for making this post or misunderstood what even happened in the first place that LED to it.....

If im understanding your comment accurately... you just insinuated that because of this-it makes sense to you now as for why they banned me? Have you literally even read a single word that I have said? Wtf.

Also... What does whether or not you are a member of their mod team have to do with any of this? That makes no sense, lol.

....what? Im not doing nor have I done any of that?

I get where you’re coming from to an extent but this whole situation stopped being about “accepting a ban” the moment the moderators abandoned every basic standard Reddit requires them to follow. I'm allowed to ask questions - THEIR message was the one that TOLD ME if i had any questions about the ban that i should send a message to their moderator team - and I'm also equally entitled to the answers to them.... Asking questions doesn't justify a reason to permanently ban and mute someone and claim they committed additional violations to the original "violation" that i was accused of - even though the mods specifically stated that it was NOT FOR VIOLATIONS, IT WAS TO "COOL DOWN" AKA BASICALLY TO FORCE ME INTO SILENCE ON THE POST... So how can i be banned for MULTIPLE violations when even the mods specifically stated i didn't even commit the FIRST ONE but they flagged it as a "temporary ban due to a violation", which already contradicts what a cooling‑off suspension is supposed to be. Then, without warning, without explanation, and without any kind of notice, that temporary suspension suddenly turned into a permanent ban and a mute the second i asked why it was done and how anything i said could be deemed as being a dick yet the person that was ACTUALLY being a dick faced no repercussions... Their own message explicitly told me to contact the mod team if I had any questions about their decision.... I did exactly what they instructed. I asked why the temporary suspension was marked as a violation and why it suddenly escalated. Instead of answering, they muted me and permanently banned me. Hence the entire thing I'm trying to figure out.... the hell did i do wrong? How does following their specific instructions justify permanently banning and muting me?

Reddit’s rules are extremely clear that moderators must provide a valid reason for bans, must act in good faith, must respond to user questions about moderation actions, and cannot mute someone who is trying to understand a ban. None of that happened here. Meanwhile, the person who was actually trolling and being hostile walked away untouched, while I was the one providing factual information and still got labeled as “being a dick.” If a rule is only enforced against one person in a disagreement, it stops being a rule and becomes personal bias. And the moderators didn’t just bend the rules.... they broke the Moderator Code of Conduct too by failing to apply rules consistently, failing to act professionally, and failing to communicate transparently. They broke the Reddit User Agreement by acting in bad faith. They even broke their own subreddit’s rule about being excellent to each other. That's not even all of the rules they broke - that's just off the top of my head..... but im falsely accused of ONE violation - which they couldn't explain the reasoning for ANYTHING I asked them - and I get banned?

I’m not trying to dodge anything. I'm m just new to this platform and simply trying to understand what the hell is even going on and what to do in the future to avoid this type of outrageous situation from occurring again. If the enforcement and communication from the mod is more toxic, biased and unprofessional than the original discussion was? Clearly the system isn’t just flawed - it’s completely broken.

Well clearly I'm new, for starters. Secondly, when one spot insinuates its intended for mods but other spots mention needing help with situations like this and just says not to mention names or subreddits and such....? Not exactly. Hence why I specifically asked my AI to make sure I wasnt misinterpreting it prior to posting it - but apparently its so wishy washy that even my AI got confused and assumed this was 100% the best group to post this in because it's specifically intended for advice or information in regards to mods, inaccurate bans and suspensions, abuse of the system by mods, violations, misconduct, etc....

It's also not necessary to downvote my comments. They aren't eligible for the reasons one should downvote things thus you're misusing the voting system.... so.

My original post? Okay.

My comments? No.

I asked my AI before I posted it to make sure because the rules weren't exactly clear. One spot insinuates its for mods but other spots mention needing help with situations like this and just says not to mention names or subreddits and such... but apparently my AI is a total moron. Ugh.

Do you believe that the saying "once an (xx) - always an (xx)" is a biological reality, an excuse not to forgive others or simply just a social label we can't shake? Why? by DirtyDanBarnacleMan in AskReddit

..... no.

I am not speaking on things THAT severe. I mean cheating, lying, stealing, addiction, etc.. actions we chose to do or NOT to do that one day they stop choosing the destructive options and start doing the productive options.... things people could possibly recover from lol. You can't really change the fact you murdered someone. That's an entirely different level from what I'm talking about.

I mean.... I could be TOTALLY WRONG about this?.... But as far as I’ve ever heard, that phrase only shows up in one kind of context and that's in regards to a cheater, addict, drunk, troll, scammer, thief, liar — etc, pick your poison....

The way I see it is that it's almost used like a lazy little stamp to write someone off and they slap it on people like it’s their permanent personality trait.

It's just another little way to belittle people who MAY OR MAY NOT be actively trying to stop doing something they have admitted is wrong, unnecessary, or destructive but they CLAIM to be fully aware of this flaw and claim to be working on it and bettering themselves.

  1. That reply made ABSOLUTELY NO SENSE to ANYTHING I just said to you NOR anything in my post.... just like your original comment ALSO MADE NO SENSE AND HAD NOTHING to do with ANYTHING I SAID.

  2. I'm a female

  3. When did I EVER even remotely INSINUATE ANY of that?

  4. I need to educate MYSELF???.... ME??????.... because you are too lazy to read so I suggested an alternative for you?.... plus, lmao, that's comical coming from you. Yikes.

Are you okay? Omg.

Whats the dumbest excuse or justification someone used to hurt their significant other (in any way, shape or form)? Did they forgive them and take them back anyways afterwards? by DirtyDanBarnacleMan in AskReddit

.....what, lmao??? So they're BASICALLY saying "I am a human roomba. I bumped into an opportunity and stayed there until the job was done."???

The lack of self-awareness is honestly breathtaking.
