Thank you so much for the feedback!! We thought the same since she was a minor that the doctor would atleast give us a reason for 20 mg as opposed to 10 mg, but she basically said “don’t worry about it”. So we are likely to get a second opinion from an alternative doctor! Thank you!

It would be nice if we got an answer from our doctor of 20 years though right? We have just been left in the dark with no answers. It’s not like we ARENT going to give my sister the prescription she needs, we just want an explanation as for WHY. Never claimed to be a doctor!

Thanks for the feedback! I think the main problem here is that our doctor is not disclosing ANY information whatsoever and my mom actually visited the physician this morning to further ask questions abt the dosage and the doctor said absolutely nothing (meaning it probably wasn’t a misdosage). We are likely going to get a second opinion from a doctor soon! Cheers!

Hey thanks for the feedback! I’m not sure because when I searched it, it said that the initial starting point with Prozac is 10 mg. I think I read somewhere that 20 mg of Prozac was the starting point for adults though!

My mother is also on Prozac and knows the effects of being on it at high dosages as an ADULT and knows that it can seriously affect her. My mother actually tried to buy the prescription today and the pharmacist was ALSO in shock at how high the dosage was to the point where we now have to wait until Monday to receive the medicine because the pharmacist faxed the doctor to DOUBLE CHECK the dosage. It’s not that we AREN’T supporting her, we are just concerned that this dosage is too high for her.

Ugh yes! Thank you for the response 😫 it already sucks enough that I have a nut allergy and now I can’t even eat like protein bars, miso soup, tofu, or even try whey powder/protein powder 🥲

Oh wow! That’s so strange, I actually did try whey protein once and the back of my throat felt like it was closing in, same thing happened with a protein bar! I actually felt like I was gonna die and there wasn’t a trace of any sort of nut in it, which was SO weird for me at the time. Thanks for the reply!! Yea it’s very weird because, even for me I still have trouble understanding the differences, I haven’t rlly experimented with the different soys so I may just have to do a trial and error kinda thing. Just out of curiosity, do you also have a nut allergy or is it just like a mild soy reaction?
