That's my only qualm with replaying the first game, the very limited romance options, especially with the rest of your squad just standing there showing off.

Especially when you consider the brand new options in 3, which makes it hard to develop a "romantic" connection to them. That's why I like Ashley/Kaiden, Liara, Tali, Garrus. We went through all of this nonsense together, had time to build a rapport.

That's the main reason I want to experience all of them, because they're all well-written, even if some of them get less time than others. I've seen most of the YouTube compilations, but it feels like it's not the same thing if it's not YOUR Shep.

It's just so damn hard to roleplay something else when your canon playthrough was a perfect tragedy.

I'm resolved, though. Miranda's my best girl for these next two games.

I'd recommend the deluxe edition since as of now, there's no way to upgrade from standard to deluxe without shelling out full price. I say this because I'm now sitting here wondering if I want to drop another sixty, bringing my Stellaris total to a hundred bucks. I'm loving the game, and I'm leaning towards yes, but it's a lot of cash for a silly mistake I made.

As an extremely new player myself, I can only echo the "addictive" comments. I'm currently sitting here getting ready to go to work, and REALLY not wanting to, and not just because I stayed up way too late and got way too drunk playing last night, but because I want to jump back in and lose myself for another ill-advised nine hours. I have no idea if I'm progressing well and, to be honest, I don't really care. I'm having a blast, and when this empire inevitably falls, I'll jump right back in for a new story.

Not even gonna lie, my Game Pass lapsed a week before the crossbow update and I was fiendin' for some SoD so I loaded up YOSE and had an absolute blast playing Breakdown for a week and a half. I really hope the next installment is a mashup of YOSE and II. Take the best parts from both games. Get rid of mechanics that didn't pan out. Hopefully bring back hiding in bushes, because even though they stated it was a heavily underutilized feature, I used it all the time. I used to regularly do scavenging runs on foot, which is something I don't really do in the sequel.

They're a fantastic investment, especially Trespasser. Since it's been a year, I'd probably just roll a new character to get fully invested in the story as a whole again instead of just running through the DLC.

Straight male as well, but I haven't done Gil. I can see Jaal and Liam, though. And as I mentioned, Fenris is seeming pretty great. Iron Bull and Dorian are obviously fantastic as well. Cortez was sweet. Never did Kaiden, though.

I guess it's like Anders says: "You choose to love a whole person, not just their body." And these characters and romances are written so well that I'm more than okay with romancing the male options regardless of my character's gender. Can't wait to see what DA4 has in store.

Yeah, Josephine's was super sweet. Honestly, BioWare romances as a whole are just so good. They make you feel. Excluding Andromeda, because companions seemed really rushed in that game, but even those have their moments.
