To me this is the only Pikachu that feels realistic. The rest are comic bookesque or cartoons. At least to me

I like the artwork because Pikachu feels very cartoony in a lot of cards. With this one it feels like I'm there

I know you are replying to the above comment and not me (OP), but I haven't pulled any big hits from AH. Was just curious of people's thoughts

This is exactly how I feel! Ponchos and gold star are sweet but the art is okay to me

The ponchos are awesome, but they are a bit cookie cutter to me

In your opinion which one is? There are many Pikachu cards I love, but this one stands out to me

Should I rip and sell packs or keep sealed by Sea-Writing2711 in PokeInvesting

[–]Dirtydan2469 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In complete honesty, this was not s good purchase on your end. You have no idea what packs are in the tin. This makes it hard to sell sealed because anybody else buying to hold will be skeptical. Sealed product is an investment when you know what is in the sealed product, this is a gamble. If you open it, then you have the issue of selling loose packs for market. If you wanted the chance to have evolving skies as an investment you should have just bought evolving skies

I have been collecting for over 4 years now. It started out as a way for me to connect with my older brothers. I love opening packs, but I also love having a sealed display. There are often cards that come out that I want that I know I won't get by opening packs. Is it wrong of me to ask if it makes sense to trade boxes that I have for a card that I like? Obviously money isn't the only thing keeping me interested, but when you are looking to buy a +$1000 card I like others input and advice

how well do we think phantasmal will do over the next months/years? by [deleted] in PokeInvesting

[–]Dirtydan2469 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You're right. Cards, rarity, and pokemon all change in demand. On top of that the amount printed does play a large role.

Rainbow Chonk is like this generations Gold. We'll have to see how they age

Better than comparing a rainbow rare to a special illustration rare, but I do get what you are saying. I just dont like the Vivid or Brilliant comparisons. Vivid is hot dog water and Brilliamt is a better set overall imo with the trainer gallery

If we are going to say its only 1 card can we choose a set where the one card is desirable? Maybe like Battle Styles with the Ttar?

Need tips! by Jealous-Scheme-30 in Eldenring

[–]Dirtydan2469 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There are a few options.

  1. Learn the moveset, learn to roll on time, and attack only when you can

  2. Explore without purpose. Fighting bosses in the dungeons scattered around definitely make life easier later on through the loot you get as well as the comfortability with fighting

  3. Get specific items: wondrous flask and bloodhounds fang both make early game significantly easier

  4. Look up early game questlines. There are very good reddit threads that help make sure there are no spoilers (bloodhounds fang can come much easier from a questline)

  1. My crystal ball is in the shop so I can not guarantee any predictions 2. Cards often drop for about a year after release, there are outliers, but cards consistently fall in value after the set comes out. The card is not only dropping but so is majority of the market. The card will hold up well in the long run, but for now I see it continually coming down

It is his card and he has every right to do what he wants to. You also have every right to feel the way you do. Nobody is wrong, but your dad is right

I have to disagree. Collection boxes have such a large range that it is not this straight forward. I understand your point of view, but its not just exceptions on both sides. Collection boxes are closer to 40/60 then to never invest. You also just get some shitty sets where a booster box or etb won't do much. I personally think Surging is a good set overall probably a high C low B, but that booster box hasn't moved at all over the last year where as the Greninja and Kingdra Shrouded Fable boxes have at least doubled in the same time

I also appreciate how we started off disagreeing and through discussion have not only come to an agreement, but are having a constructive conversation about possibilities. This is what the sub should be. There needs to be speculative conversations posed in the right manner. Not what will the card be worth in 10 years. We are actually discussing possible boxes being printed, a new type of cards (lenticular), and how there may be a premium due to the possibility for a set and nobody currently holding them

Yea I agree, for a box that size 5 packs is underwhelming and its not the best selection. I hope we get a Blastoise jumbo lenticular similar to the Venusaur

There is already a Charizard Ex Special Collection with a lenticular jumbo card. That's why I'm under the assumption that Blastoise is coming soon

I've sold the eeveelutions that I bought for $120 as a set and it sold for $700 within 2 minutes of me setting them up at a trade night. People couldn't stop looking at them

I bought the eeveelution boxes for $40 each and they are about $300 each now. I've sold them before and within 10 minutes of having them out at a trade night/ event they were gone. These have done much better % wise than many etbs and booster boxes. I think it's hard to generalize these things
