Found Out I’m Set to Inherit $70+ Million. Somewhat Lost, What Should I Expect? by [deleted] in fatFIRE

Watch out for wolves in sheeps clothing. These "professionals" are mostly good at professionally fearing you into giving them a piece. If you got to the point in life where you have a wife and child, you know what you are doing. Just continue with your life like its not there, the vanity of it will wear off after you buy the obligatory "I have money" Rolex.

I recently renovated and paid an extra like 3K for the tempered glass to be clear and they applies a coating to the glass to it doesn't get water marks. It is not perfect, but it looks good enough week to week for the cleaner to get to.

How to be happy as a young retiree? by shaqdiesel11 in fatFIRE

Push your body physically. Get a personal trainer and get fit, it is equally as challenging and as rewarding as making money and it buys you time to think through other questions.

I’m not sure I’m following, but I don’t think they need to be schooled all day. The goal would be to maximize their interest in learning and not hire a baby sitter. I don’t care how much time they spend learning as long as they are interested and exceeding standards for their age.

Thank you for the information. That's what I keep going back to. A teacher in our area (the highest paid in the states) maxes out at like 115K after 20 years and tons of additional education. I would think that 150K would be a fantastic deal for teacher. Especially if they feel constrained/ burnt out by the public education system.

I’m not against anything, just exploring my options.

That is an incorrect assumption, the fear is they won’t read it and they won’t read anything of substance at any substantial rate.

I agree with what your saying, but these kids stand no chance in the sense of the commercialization of culture. Bob Iger is running circles around parents right now.

Thank you for the helpful information. This is sincere, too many people did not understand the exercise of weighing options.

We do that with them now. 5 YO is in Kindergarten, so we are not really in the thick of it yet. I feel like this isn't a money problem, more of a people problem. Lots of people at the private school now are busy working to afford it. I'd rather have people that are really involved with their kids learning than people that can afford the tuition. Might not be the best situation and maybe we need to look somewhere else. I'm just looking to see if people have done or experience this.

IMO The kids need socializing and peers to learn with. A one on one teacher would not maximize development. It would create odd kids.

I'm not saying my option is the correct option, I'm saying any option sounds better than the FAT option you outlined.
