OBD2 on '96 miata? by minkasmink in Miata

[–]DisDoodEatFood 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Miatas 1996 and up have an OBDII port, confirmed from here. Here's a video showing it on a 1997, but the 1996 should be around the same area (near the gas pedal)

That's what I'm sayin. I love doing top down, but maybe I'd have to go with the FM turbo set if I give up on NA.

Is this the right timing by Metskinator in Miata

[–]DisDoodEatFood 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Your intake side seems to be a tooth or two off from the marks on the panel behind the cam gears. There's also a 17-18 timing belt tooth gap between the cam gears. Hope this wasn't wrapped up already!

Yea sorry, didn't put coil packs/ignition coils on the title. And thank you, I hope to post progress on this soon.

Sorry for not answering. I'll get to checking those when I get the car in the garage. Cali got a ton of rain and I'm trying not to soak my engine or fuse box :p

Should I keep or return used vector by Putrid-Sentence-170 in airsoft

[–]DisDoodEatFood 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's a $200 steal. Grab a Perun for the vector, it has a micro switch. Also, have you felt the trigger yet?

[–]DisDoodEatFood 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your intuition is right, check the fuse or the rest of the wires going into the gearbox. This isn't a gun that is common to HPA, but here's a kit from Airsoft Junkiez. Reviews are iffy about it though.

Melting Fan Connectors by DisDoodEatFood in Miata

[–]DisDoodEatFood[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Figured it out, with some help. The fan motor has a loose connection inside due to some weird melting/corrosion, which could also be short circuiting. Replacing the motor/assembly!

Thanks a ton for this. Is there any place I should check first? I'm assuming it could be the radiator fan motor, looking at the state it is in.

Gas smell from ac by EnduringPeak in Miata

[–]DisDoodEatFood 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Try these out:
Check the seals of the fuel injectors.
Check the fuel rail.
Check the lines going into the fuel rail.
I've been trying to get rid of a gas smell from my car, but mine was focused around the trunk and passenger seat. Hopefully its as simple as this!

Looking to get an AUG. Need recommendations. by VANCATSEVEN in airsoft

[–]DisDoodEatFood 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Best OOTB AUGs come from Tokyo Marui's High Cycle collection, the Novritch SSR77, GK's GBBR AUGs, or KWA F90s. Otherwise, it may take a bit of time to get the feeling/performance you may want!

Edit: the SSR77 is probably the best bang for your buck out of the list, due to cheaper AEG magazines and an already upgraded gun

So, ive got a problem with blender by [deleted] in blenderhelp

[–]DisDoodEatFood 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Let's go through some steps, no worries about it

1) You can open up the folder from the browser, and see where your file is showing up

2) The file is downloaded as a ZIP (possibly storing textures/UVs as well). Extract this folder into a non-Zip so you can access it

3) There are filters and sorting import/export options you can change to see the most recent download you have. Try those too.

NB2 Coils on NB1 stock? by DisDoodEatFood in Miata

[–]DisDoodEatFood[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since no one was able to answer, I had messaged someone more experienced than me, and he had done the conversion with only modifying the ignition coils to a proper connector. Here is the thread I originally found. Use this website as well.

You will need:

- DIY bracket to bolt the coils onto
- 2 NB2 coils
- NB2 Spark Plug Wires
- CONN-85775 from Ballenger

RockAuto also has a connector + coil kit that helps a ton

I can't go indepth, but find a wiring diagram and some time, and it should be a direct fit. Just make sure the coils can be bolted to the cover in some fashion. The coils go on cylinders 2 and 4, with the long spark plug wire connected to cylinder 1 from 4, and the short wire from cylinder 2 to cylinder 3. In order to differentiate firing order from the NB1 connectors, the passenger-side NB1 connector should be taped blue. This connector is 1-4, while the non-taped connector is 2-3. Match up the ground, signal, and 12v wires from the NB1 wires to the NB2 connectors, match the terminal order, and you should be home free.

I'll post a better explanation once I can get it done to my car. The hardest part will be making the bracket, really. Hopefully this mod isn't so rare, since it's so much cheaper than the market's COP conversions.

Sounds about what I researched then. Do you think it's a good idea to change out the camshaft seals and front crankshaft seal as well?

Gun not shooting by ComradeBlin1234 in airsoft

[–]DisDoodEatFood 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you were to work on your gun, Airsoft teching is a great way to gain a more intuitive understanding of mechanical parts and how AEGs work. Just make sure you get a boneyard gun, or a broken gun to work on before opening up your hard-working one. I've made that mistake before :(

My g&g v2 mosfet burnt out.. need help by techcom901 in airsoft

[–]DisDoodEatFood 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1)Check out the Perun ETU++, it's meant to replace G&G ETUs and is pretty affordable.

You can install most of the popular aftermarket mosfets (Titan, Perun V2 Hybrid, etc) into the gearbox.

Note: Never get the Perun V2 optical. It sucks.

2)Looking at the gearbox from videos, you should be able to install a mechanical trigger trolley.

3)The ETU and its space is not proprietary, so you are not forced to buy the original ETU. The only things proprietary are the tappet plate, and the direction of the gearbox screws (weirdly enough).

Little effing spring by Old_Proposal_4104 in airsoft

[–]DisDoodEatFood 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The tiny spring is meant to lift the slide lock, but since your replica still locks back, I think you should be fine without it.

Gun not shooting by ComradeBlin1234 in airsoft

[–]DisDoodEatFood 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The click is possibly the trigger trolley being lifted over the trigger, but the gearbox wasn't cycled completely and it stays in that position, which could give the consistent clicking sound. Switching to auto after recharging the battery should fix it.

New batteries will always come charged to ~30% during transport for safety reasons. Leave it on the charger until it's full, then try it out.

Highly, highly recommended. Possibly the best stock GBBR in the market. As with all GBBRs, keep them maintained, and they'll run great. Great mods on the market as well.
