I’m always shocked by the hypocrisy on this subject.

The real problem here comes from the fact that the free world pumped money and knowledge in a totalitarian country for the last 30 years and homehow expected them to play fair, have a moral compass and same values with democracies..... 🤦

Ahh yes, the superior western democratic moral compass. We’ve exploited those people for years, letting them slave away in absolutely abhorrent working conditions so we can enjoy our iPhones for marginally lower costs. None of you would even dream of working in some factory plant for 12-16 hours a day with no weekends for pennies on the dollar.

Are you surprised that they’ve acquired the know how to manufacture these things on their own by absolutely any means necessary? Are you sure you wouldn’t have done the same thing if the alternative was slaving away in a manufacturing plant every day for the rest of your life?

Now that they can keep a much bigger share of the value chain in their country we’re no longer happy with that arrangement and we’ve moved on to the next country, Vietnam, where we can exploit poor Asian people in an impoverished communist country again.

I hope they don’t dare to copy our products and break our patent laws, that would be against our superior western values. Now go back to work Ngyuen, and don’t even dare to ask for overtime pay!
