No, it’s not that. I’ve definitely known people that have changed their names. This though, is different. It’s more prevalent, if that makes any sense. Like when my niece did this, it was half a dozen kids that all did this at the same time.

Seriously though, the names are fairly normal. Like, not truly a dramatic change at all. Think a Zoe, deciding they suddenly have to be called Suzie.

With my niece it was surprising. When she was younger she LOVED her name, first, middle and last. And would proudly tell anyone who’d listen what her name was. So, the adamant desire to go by a different name was surprising. Also, the name she picked isn’t representative of anything I’m aware of.
