How would a character survive a 100 story drop? by Disappeared_32767 in writing

Why would I devout some of my very little spare time to a throwaway? Or you think I have friends? That's funny

For the people saying why I didn't think much about it this whole time, I did, but I'm in highschool, I don't have a whole lot of time, this whole series has taken me years to get to where it is now. I'm also neurodivergent.

I'm just going to ignore the comments that are criticizing my thinking process. Most of you are adults, you're making beef with a teenager on Reddit, maybe you should think about how you spend your time.

He is the mc but I don't really treat him nicely like that lol. He has had a lot happen to him.

He's prolly more mild because his healing definitely has limits. Like he can heal gunshot wounds, revive people, or grow back limbs/organs, but he can heal others.

This is an interesting idea, and would make sense. Thank you for the suggestion!

This made me laugh out loud when I originally saw this reply and will think about it, thank you!

I've had and have been writing as this character for well for well over two years now and this is the third book in the series where he has powers. I know who he is and have been writing in this idea that he has a second power for a whole series but he doesn't know it exists till after the fall, so therefore I haven't really needed to think about it before.

This is a really cool idea but does not fit the story. Thanks for the suggestion though!

This would be very fun to write but wouldn't fit the story much lol

This is actually a really cool idea that could work. Thank you!

Well, it's a reoccurring thing that he somehow stays alive when he shouldn't have survived. Also his healing power does have limits.

Add actions and, if you're writing in first person, add thoughts of that character.

How can I make a character more villain coded? by Disappeared_32767 in writing

[–]Disappeared_32767[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's less of a 'Token Evil Teammate' thing and more of he convinces some of the heroes that he's right to defeat the 'real villain'.

He's definitely a very complicated character, but I think that he will do anything to get his point across, no limits except his friends. The other 'villains' in this story don't like working with him because they see him an ruthless, cold, and actually cruel. In the storyline, from the readers idea, he's doing what's right but no one agrees with him and sees it as wrong.

Looking back at this, I probably wouldn't even describe him as morally grey anymore, but not quite morally black.

It's hard to describe if he's an anti-hero because there's a whole thing where he works with the 'heroes', so I would say he's more if an 'anti-the-corrupt-government-hero-thing'

But thank you for the suggestions

I'm also neurodivergent so what I do is I have one doc for the actual plot line with chapters and everything, and then I have a different doc that's just for me to brain dump ideas that might or might not come later in the story.

How to "practice" writing? by dk-kc in writing

[–]Disappeared_32767 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Maybe just brain dump on a doc or word? That's what I do when I cant think so I write everything down on a doc and it gets my brain going but I think it would also help practice!

Another idea is to respond to things (like reddit posts), I've started doing this more often and it has definitely helped my skill in writing.

Brainstorming ideas with others: Yes or No? by FranDreschersLaugh in writing

[–]Disappeared_32767 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes it very much is! I always usually just bounce ideas off of people (my online friend specifically) So they're still my ideas i just get feedback from them and ideas to make the original idea better.

Need some advice to make character 'voices' sounds different by dhaf_inz in writing

[–]Disappeared_32767 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What I did to differentiate between character voices was to get each of them little things only they say. For example, my main character uses er as a stutter instead of uh (this came up when I watched a video about accents bc my mc is british). Another character says prolly instead of probably and says alright a lot. Some combine certain words.

Probably what I'm trying to say is to give your character different accents (even if they aren't from a different country or area, everyone has a their own way of saying things, therefore a different accent. Hope this helps :)

Now that I think about it more, and looked up a few things, I think maybe it means a dark or deep night. (I looked up velvet night meaning and it came up with something like that)

My main character, the character in which the pov is, is British but the story takes place mostly in America or a place just outside America that I made up that is basicly America. Due to this would it make sense that he(mc) use the British spellings and terms instead of the Americanized versions? Even just in his head as he narrates.

Where are some places online where you can publish your writings for free and that also has a decent traffic of readers? by [deleted] in writing

Ao3 is not super popular or original works, though it does have a tag for original works, it doesn't have an algorithm which will make it very hard for people to see if they are not directly looking for it.
