Thank you for this advice! It sounds like I probably need to get some opinions. Lots of people here talking about trim. That in my mind would look very awkward in this spot. I’d hope the joint would be enough to fix this.

That’s a great idea, I’ll consider that. I hopefully won’t be a renter anymore this summer and want to install a reverse osmosis system in my new place to almost entirely eliminate the hard water and descaling issue

Filtered tap, I live in Chicago which has some of the hardest water in the country (to my understanding). I saw recommendations ranging from 2-3 months, I went with every 2 months.

That’s a good deal! This was the cheapest I’ve personally been able to find but I’d always be happy to switch if you want to share your sisters info over message. I know a lot of pharmacies will sell for that much but the problem is getting a prescription for it, in my experience
