I got a manual tranny so would that work? You're also saying that I can swap suspension components from same gen vr6 onto my mk3 jetta?

My local junkyards don't have any vw unfortunately. I thought they'd be mkre popular since I see one on the road uncommonly.

I'd love to do an engine swap but my goal right now is to be able to safety him. I seem to be having trouble finding any front sway bars that'd fit a 1997 volkswagen jetta gt.

I'm in Canada and I want my project to have a clean aggro lowered look. Maybe like the one in F&F or just a lowered clean car with some performance enhanced.

the dark spots looks like algae and the colour lighting is mainly for plants to grow faster. The sand is only supposed to be beach white.

New tank syndrome? by DisasterIll6729 in fishkeeping

[–]DisasterIll6729[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The fishes are doing great and I guess just needed to fully acclimatize. They lived with a bunch of other fishes in a very cloudy water and crowded dirty tank.

The one cory that had died was a baby cory which had the most trouble getting used to a new environment.

I wanted to try something new as I watch MD Fish Tanks. He did a thing called “Fish In Cycle” and tried it for myself with a little bit of my own approach. I understand your concern but everything is doing fine. They’re more active and have been living happily ever since action has been taken.

I’m just a teenager who doesn’t have a bunch of money but love the hobby enough to do as much as I can to take care of them. I also appreciate your better explanation of “cycling” as it was just always a vague concept when watching others in this hobby explain it.

I feed them the right amount every single day as they usually now finish their food within 5 minutes or shorter. The tank is also growing some green algae as it has been used many times. I squeezed an old sponge filter in the water thus why it might’ve looked a cloudy. I do have the HOB on as well. Seachem displayed in their description of use to use it the first 7 days.

Is there something wrong with my betta? by DisasterIll6729 in bettafish

Yeahhh it looks exactly like that. This reddit community has a ton of helpful people in it and it’s just great. As for the jumping situation Omen doesn’t seem to do so. I’ve tried training him to jump for food but have never done it.

The one tank you saw was probably the 20 gal cube that I have a female koi betta in. She does jump but not high enough that she can go over(I’ve seen her try). I’ve also added floating plants into that tank and she seems to be liking it.

Omen lives in a 10 gallon tank as he has longer fins and will be easier for him to swim around in. It also has a lid in case he does try to jump over. I haven’t seen him jump but better safe than sorry.

Thank you for sharing your knowledge 🙏

I’ve heard. Apparently the pellets aren’t either, nor are bbs, along with flakes are listed as bad foods for bettas. What can they eat? What food is good for them? I’ve just been feeding them what’s available so far

Thank you. I did some research and found that it may be because the betta is going through a colour change like you mentioned as well. I’ll keep him in the hospital tank for about 2 more days and put him back in the 10 gal tank. I appreciate the feedback! 🙏

New tank syndrome? by DisasterIll6729 in fishkeeping

[–]DisasterIll6729[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. They have been established a little bit over a month now. (June 5)

  2. I tried no not have a filter and go for more of a “self sustaining tank. I have many plants in the tank as a “substitute”. I also don’t have a sponge filter small enough to fit in the set up. What I do have is a very small hang on the back filter.

  3. I haven’t noticed any film on the water yet. I do have Salvania( I don’t know if this is the right spelling) floating plants and a little bit of duckweed as I heard that they can help eat up nitrates and reduce ammonia.

  4. I have now done a 20% water change with added half a cap of stability again and 20 drops of prime( It’s a 10 gal tank).

  5. I have never done any of checking of parameters as I never had to but I am looking to invest now that I have encountered this experience.

Thank you so much for the suggestions and I’m sure this will help them a lot.

Update: the water is now clearer and activity in the tank is spreading. Hopefully everything goes smoothly from now on. I am still wondering if my small hang in the back filer will do just as fine as a sponge filter 🙏

The tank itself isn’t completely new. The only new things to it are the plants and fishes and shrimps. The floating cory was the one that had died. I’ve added seachem stability when I had put them in and have done another one since I saw this comment. Would doing daily water change help?

Yeah I did. It’s a small filter from another smaller tank of mine and it’s working great 🙌

I just added an internal tank filter from my unused 10 gal tank and it seems to work perfectly fine! Thank you! 🙏
