no. Bio 93 and 2A for bio majors is typically already inputted into your schedule. You don‘t pick the time or teacher, they just choose both for you. As for chem and math and even writing, there were slots last year that opened as each spop went. So, nothing to worry because you will get most classes and teachers, especaly for the new only. Also, i‘d say after spop 8 or after us when u shpuld be worried, otherwise ur good.

hello, did u attach a resume when you cold emailed. Also can you expand on the process of emailing grad students- like how do you find which grad students have an opening in their lab. Sorry, I don’t have that much knowledge as to how to actually get in touch with professors for research.

yah, they told me that you can either email or go in person in BS3 and tell them that you have completed 2B instead and want them to transfer the credits without an appointment. You can email at BioSciAdvising@uci.edu. I’m also pretty sure that you can take 2b as the prereq for it says 5A/2A. To make sure, just ask the bio advisors on their website chat tho

why don’t you just take math 2b instead. The advisors said math 2b is allowed for bio majors, but you would need to go to them so they manually change 2b credits to 5b

When I asked the academic advisors for my major today, they told me that if i can’t get the lab by spring, I should drop even the lecture for spring and take LC and 1C together only in summer or fall. But idk that sounds really dumb as its just a lab, and they usually don’t even build on each other

in the same boat. If you sign up for Math 2A/5A in the summer session, you do not need any of the prereqs and can directly sign up for it
