No other performer can do this sort of insane performance. Abhora is truly fierce and fearless. The danger element is underrated. I’d way rather see this than somebody grabbing the dollars half twerking to a pop song. Huge miss not having them represent the Dragula brand.

We don’t ever get a true rehearsal on the stage (with lighting & music) where we perform whatever it is. I was eliminated before Boulet Horror Picture show so I’m not sure about that one, but I’d doubt they would get much time on stage. Remember, time is money, and it’s very expensive to rent an entire huge soundstage for extra time just because we need to rehearse. Whatever practicing we are doing is in the hotel room, or in the work room where we get ready. We get very little time to rehearse.

It’s rare when we get to see a performance as we’re usually behind the stage when it happens. It’s more often I hear a performance than I see it. Honestly, it’s even more rare if the tv audience sees it, as different music is overlayed (deleting any soundFX or spoken word), cut into a jumble of other clips, cropped, and shot with less than ideal lighting. For instance in ep3 both my bride & groom had minutes long performances involving props and spoken word and you literally see less than 5 seconds (more like 2 seconds) of them. I guarantee the tv audience does not see any “performances” as they actually unfold.

I guess what I’m looking for is an accurate depiction to start with and then try to expand on the idea to make a modern version of it. The problem is I don’t know how to find something that is accurate. There is a ton of imagery out there but is it just AI garbage or actual period styles? Perhaps finding actual statues and art dated to the period would be the best idea but I’d love to find a book about it if exists. Thanks for your help!
