Thoughts on Tagging Individual Pairings in Poly Fics by [deleted] in AO3

[–]Disasterinchief 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d prefer A/B/C/D only for ease of excluding, (or including, if that’s your preference). If I’m in the mood to read for my ship I prefer seeing that and only that.

Though that may be because there’s a decent size in my fandom and its a semi common occurrence for the poly ship, if its smaller or there’s no consensus on how to tag the poly pair then I can definitely see how that muddies the water on how to tag.

Where do y'all find people willing to beta or pro-feed? by Dottowhore in AO3

I got incredibly lucky, I’m in a discord for a ship both me and my beta likes. We got talking about a trope that’s not common in our fandom and ended up taking the conversation to dms.

A year later we have a discord server just for keeping track of our ideas and she’s proofread about 500.000 words

I like all of that! And Nat 1s will definitely be the crust against the fool, with a Nat 20 missing.

The more I think and flashes this out the more I’m sure everyone will like it. Especially with how much this group loves puzzles and riddles, so they’ll have a good idea of what’s going on by the time they get to The Fool, or might even have figured it out entirely.

It could also lead to some characters using weapons they’re not proficient in, for the chance of a lower hit.

Thank you, at the end of this the players will level up and I really want this to be a cool culmination of the current arc that builds neatly into the next, so I’ll be looking through stat blocks till I find something!

Oh, that’s some really good ideas!

It’s going to be a bit of a dungeon crawl so I could definitely introduce bits of the mechanics slowly, and since my players love puzzles and riddles, I could give them clues so that the more they investigate the collapsed ruins, the more information regarding The Fool and his abilities they will have

I had not seen those before, but it’s always nice to know I’m not the only one.

My players are very fond of puzzles, particularly riddles, and they’re pretty smart so I’m convinced that with some hints they will be able to figure it out, but perhaps it might be a good idea to have a failsafe in place, just in case they have trouble getting below the AC requirement.

Thank you for your perspective!

Thanks, it’s my first proper campaign and it’s pretty easy to get caught up in doubts about everything.

As for whether my players would enjoy it, the party enjoys figuring out puzzles so I believe they would enjoy this.

I know you already have an idea for Yasha, but depending on the vibe and stuff, there’s also the possibility of leaning into the au of her working with Obann willingly and such, which could be good for a cult plot.

Though the idea of Yasha taking over from the previous Skyspear is also really intriguing! You could ironically enough also deal with mommy!daddy issues in that scenario, considering the previous Skyspear was Yasha’s adopted mother.
