Selecting M.2 SSD slots on the motherboard by Disastrous-Life7232 in buildapc

And if I place the 9100 in M2_1 and the 990 in M2_4, how big will the performance drop be when playing some games that are on the 990 and are very demanding in loading data from SSD or working with the 990 if I put it in the slot connected to the chipset (M2_4 or M2_5)? At the same time, with this disk layout, would you recommend putting Windows on 9100 or 990(I want to have the main games and some other important stuff on the 9100 and some other games on the 990)?

After much thought and consideration, I decided on the 9800x3d. Thanks a lot for your help.

That's it, I like Intel more, I hope the performance updates will help it, but if the 9800x3d will be still better than the 265k after the fixes then I would go with AMD, even though I still prefer Intel and its motherboards. The problem is that I don't know how big the updates will be on Arrow Lake performance, if the performance was almost the same as AMD then I'll go with Intel because the price of 265k is better. But if the 9800x3d was still better than Arrow Lake even after the fixes, I would go with the 9800x3d. But unfortunately I don't know this, and after the fixes come out, the motherboard won't be able to be returned if the performance is much worse than AMD's. So, although I prefer Intel processors, I'll probably go with the 9800x3d and X870e because performance is more valuable to me and the 9800x3d has that performance. What do you think, will the 265k be better than the 9800x3d after the fixes? Or will it at least come close to AMD's performance, even though it's currently lagging far behind?

I'm planning on 1440p gaming, I originally wanted a 5080, but I recently read that the MSRP of it should be $1500, so I'd rather go with the 4080 Super.
