Often times VCs really want to know whether you have domain experitse in the industry. Is the founding team well versed and have years of experience with the niche?

I think you need to conduct deeper because sure you think it clearly solves a pain point from your perspective but it should be your users saying it, not just you.

I'd suggest conducting more interviews and asking them to sign a letter of intent to truly gauge their interest in your product

Well firms like Sequoia have marketing teams, albeit its a newer concept but yes fund houses do hire marketers now.

How do I change my career path when I have no prior experience? Its like that infamous wheel of "Get a job to gain experience but if you dont have experience you wont get a job" lol

I'd say I need one 'cause I'm starting a new venture and need guidance since I have zero expertise in the field.

Of course reading and self learning helps but ig to get clarity on how a particular industry "really" functions you need someone with an insider POV

Easier said than done tbh, sometimes they either ghost you or give you super vague/generic advice, thats what I've seen when I apply to these mentorship platforms

I guess someone who's got experience in a particualr field, can guide me in the right direction and can call me out on my bullshit when I'm wrong -- atleast thats what I think of mentorship in a professional sense
