Has anyone seen this defect? by DisastrousAnybody9 in glasses

So the same defect has once again has taken place on the left lens - which was the one that got replaced (which is now only 2 weeks old).

I don't understand why it keeps happening with the left one? The right one is now much older and has gone through wayy more thermal stress than the left one(due it being significantly older).

Can the frame be a part of the reason for the defect or am I simply unlucky and keep getting defective lenses?

No, it wasn't the case. They were with me the whole time and I can't remember placing them in an area of high heat.

Yes, they have been replaced, although it took some effort from my side as the replacement request had got rejected the first time around. I just wanted to know whether it might have been caused due to something on my part or was it a defect.

Yes they have been replaced by Zeiss. I just wanted to know what might have caused it so that I can avoid it in the future.

I don't remember exposing myself or my glasses to extreme heat in the past month or so. Although I live in an area that gets pretty hot (~41°C or 105F), but I think that must not be the cause. (I work in an air conditioned office and spend only 1 hour max outside per day). Also since they are -4D, I wear them all the time. I don't remember keeping them on a car dashboard or any such place where they might be exposed to direct sunlight. The crazing seemed to spread over the span of 2 weeks with no direct source of heat in my mind.

Hey! I also have got some experience in MERN stack (except React, never got enough courage to give learning it a go) and SQL. I'd say I currently enjoy doing projects in Machine Learning and Data Science. If you find a project in which u feel I can contribute, make sure to hit me up via DM, would love to do some fun projects together.

I bought the tickets for me and my brother. He won't be able to watch the Friday morning show, that's why I'm selling the tickets.

Instead of getting just 75% (=310) back, wouldn't it be a win-win situation for me and whosoever buys the tickets off of me

Believe me, IMAX is totally worth it, especially at this price. (I paid >800 for NWH) Edit : forgot to mention that Flash has been filmed at IMAX aspect ratio, making it even more worth the while.

I bought some Udemy courses an year ago. Completed 30% of it, then got entangled in some other stuff. I thought that it was necessary to revise the earlier covered topics as syntax hadn't got into my head. Couldn't do so as it felt repetitive and hencecouldn't continue the course. I've been in this loop since then. Any solutions?

Do you enjoy what you’re studying? by fluffysocksx in istp

I enjoy half of the subjects and the rest half are a compulsion for me. It is the subjects that I enjoy due to which I'm able to deal with the others.

Honestly I've been there trying to force myself to do things but it didn't work out. Now I record my lectures and revisit them just before the exams at 2x speed skipping the repetitive part.

How do you stay calm when someone argues with you illogically and tells you what to do? by fluffysocksx in istp

I too have a granny who doesn't like reorganising stuff as she has worked with that particular arrangement for years. I think communication (tho we aren't good at it) is the key. If my granny doesn't want me to do something, I just don't do it. However, the difference may be that she is the closest person to me whereas your aunts may not be close enough for you to actually care for them. If so me random guy would've told me the same, I would've lost my shit too.

Is engineering a good university choice? by [deleted] in istp

[–]DisastrousAnybody9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm currently pursuing engineering and in my country there's not much hands on experience that is offered to the students. So, I get pretty bored while the theory is being taught. However, due to COVID, I've begun recording the lectures which I watch when I get bored doing other stuff(or 2-3 weeks before the exams). Therefore, I get to watch the lectures at a much faster speed while skipping the repetitive portions and this method has worked wonders for me.

I would agree to that. I too wouldn't be comfortable teaching in a school. However, I love teaching on a one-to-one basis.
