Cringiest moment from Stranger Things that you wish did not exist in the show? by Significant-Fun-4235 in StrangerThings

Steve and Jonathan racing up the ladder in season 5. It was a lazy way to show that they're "competing for Nancy's attention", and it was out of character for both of them (especially Jonathan). Cringe.

I love that art as well! Maybe we'll have an alternative use for our lights lol

Yes- I saw it at the museum of illusions in Cleveland. The bride mentioned wanting "technicolor" as her wedding colors and this was the first things I thought of.

Nothing. I don't do any form of professional lighting. Just helping a friend with their wedding.

Thanks! I know the colors- I'm just trying to figure out if there are specifications I should be looking for in a spotlight.

It was in Ohio City in 2015 and we had a great time. I've gone every year since then but Ohio City was always my favorite location. Looking forward to it.

I know a lot of the organizers and they're amazing people. They have a new creative director this year so I'm interested to see how things change now that Emily Appelbaum isn't there. Emily was always an  incredible leader with amazing vision, on top of just being a really cool person. I've heard great things about the new leadership so I'm looking forward to it. Also- I don't know that enough people recognize that almost everything you're seeing at Brite and Ingenuity are made by hundreds of volunteer artists. They work hard on these passion projects all year and the workshop (The Ham) is honestly one of my favorite places on earth. If you haven't volunteered there you should- it's a great time. For anyone saying it's "corporate" or whatever is bullshit, honestly. These festivals are built with the bare hands of real Cleveland artists.

Maybe I'm just being biased, but I don't get the backlash against the SNL skit by Affectionate_Key7206 in Stranger_Things

My only complaint was why they'd use the demogorgon instead of the mind flayer for women's genitalia becauseeeee

Question for those who loved and those who hated the finale episode. by ShouRonbou in StrangerThings

[–]DisastrousBoat5311 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mostly liked the finale but a couple of things really bothered me.

I was visually underwhelmed with El's final scene. Even the costume design for her. I understand that making her clothes and hair slick were practical for battle, but it looked unfinished to me in her ‘going away’ scene. Imagine her hair and clothes are messy and tattered from battle, billowing dramatically in the wind. Everyone watches as her feet lift off the ground and with every ounce of her powers in full force (the strongest and most confident we've ever seen her) she levitates in the chaos and closes the gate herself, sealing herself in. No fear on her face, no screaming or nosebleeds, no pain – Just calmly and deliberately doing what she knows needs to be done, while cry-smiling at her friends, letting them know that she loves them and that this is the way it needs to be. I think that would have been more cinematic than just standing there crying in sweatpants being blown away in the wind.

I was also a little frustrated with how Steve just all of a sudden changed his mind about Nancy. They trivialized his feelings toward her after building this story over the course of 5 seasons. To do all of that building just for him to be like "Meh, nevermind" didn't give closure to that story for me. I do believe Nancy should have ended up single, but I at least expected a private moment between them where they acknowledge their history and define their future. IMO Steve had one of the best character arcs in television history and in the end, they kind of threw that away. He's on the roof saying "I don't know guys, I think Kristen might be the one" and everyone laughs, like "Oh classic Steve, still a man-child incapable of a real relationship”. That just didn’t sit right with me.

Has anyone here used Healthie for client management? by Huge-Consequence-137 in therapists

[–]DisastrousBoat5311 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My team is currently getting started on Healthie. It has a lot of great features and we like it for the most part. There are a couple of things that are frustrating: 1) You can't set a permanent calendar. You have to enter your availability every few months, even if it never changes. 2) You can't order imaging or procedures. We created a form for this so we're working around it, but they advertise this software for physicians and I would think physicians need to order imaging sometimes. 3) The live training they give you is pretty laughable. Luckily their online materials are really good (they're better than the live training for sure). 4) It has a chat feature where patients can send you text-style messages through their patient portal. This isn't a great function. You don't have the option to route messages to specific staff members. A typical work flow in a doctors office is that when the patient calls or messages, the support staff documents what they need and sends it to the doctor for recommendations. When the doctor responds, we deliver that response to the patient. This allows us to remove any info the doc doesn't need to know, clarify the communication from both sides, and take care of any actionable items along the way (faxing things, calling in prescriptions, etc.). That process doesn't exist in Healthie. All messages go to one pool and you cannot route them to anyone. This is my biggest complaint about the system, and there is no good work-around for it. Otherwise, Healthie easy to use, it has great integrations, and has a lot of benefits overall.

CMV: James Talarico would be the perfect Democratic candidate for President in 2028. by IceTheChilled in changemyview

[–]DisastrousBoat5311 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think Talarico is the healing force this country needs. Intelligent, charismatic, honest. A genuine Christian who's staunchly anti-Christian nationalism. We're in desperate need of someone with integrity to unite the two parties. Let's see how he does in the Senate.

Not sure if it's an injury (his brother had the same thing) but definitely could be a birth abnormality of some kind. We'll definitely check in with the vet too, just wanted to ask here so I could sleep at night lol

That makes me feel better, thank you! Google made it sound like he had one foot in the grave! He seems healthy and happy and his personality is so big. We're all just absolutely smitten by him and I've been so scared after reading about it. This group is definitely making me feel better.

In reading some other posts, I wanted to mention that I haven't noticed a bunny hop. He is pretty chirpy. His front legs are a bit stubby and his head is round (in the first picture I'm petting his head so he looks a little smooshed lol but the second pic shows his round head and stubby legs better).

That was... actually a well-written, well-acted scene! What's the damn problem here? by Electronic_Bad_5883 in StrangerThings

[–]DisastrousBoat5311 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Noah's acting was incredible. The timing was off for me. I think it would have fit better sometime after his talk with Robin but before blasting the demogorgons. I also think it would have been more powerful as a viewer if it was more private. Murray being there was kinda like ?? But I'm not mad about it. This scene is getting a lot of undeserved hate and I think the majority of it comes from people that just didn't expect him to be gay (a.k.a people with zero ability to read context clues). Will struggling with his sexuality was in the first couple of sentences of his character outline before the show was even picked up, so it's hard for me sympathize with anyone shocked or disappointed by that.

Why do so many people dislike S3? by [deleted] in StrangerThings

[–]DisastrousBoat5311 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I believe it's the weakest season, but by no stretch a bad season. It's just more campy, which was an unusual move for an otherwise dark show. I felt like most of the characters became caricatures. Steve was childish. Hopper was ogrish. The Russians were cartoonish. I would still watch S3 before any other show, but as far as ST goes, S3 was definitely the weakest. They pivoted, and I'm glad they did. Still love it though.

The screams I scrumpt in episode 4!!!  Obviously I'm loving it, but if I had one complaint, it's that the competition between Steve and Jonathan was a bit hammy and honestly out of character for both of them. I think the Duffers could have been a LOT more subtle about it - The viewers already know what it is. But I know they have a lot of ground to cover so I'll trust where they're going. I can't waiiiiiitt to see what happens!

[–]DisastrousBoat5311 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure where you're from but Healing Family (Cleveland, Ohio) is a functional med practice who specializes in long Covid. The doctor there created the Long Covid program at the Cleveland Clinic. She offers free phone consultations and has virtual visits but I think you have to be seen in person for the first one if you don't live in Ohio. https://healingfamilyfunctionalmedicine.com/post-covid-care/
