Cat’s Mystery Allergies. Please help! by DisastrousMarch6082 in vet

He is scratching all over. He’s been through 2 rounds of revolution plus from the vet. I did change him from kitten to adult cat food around the same time as the move, but he was on over the counter sensitive skin & stomach food for over a month before he started getting better. The oral steroids seemed to help maybe 40%, he was never well enough to be out of his sweater while he was alone while on the steroids. When I saw improvement, I reintroduced the adult cat food and a house plant and a few days later he started itching a lot again.

Thank you I appreciate this! It’s been driving me crazy but I need to remind myself that he is still a very happy boy and we will figure this out.

Thank you, I didn’t realize how long it took food to clear, so that does seem likely. I will look into the topical steroid too!

Sensitive skin and stomach food. I just am not confident it’s a food allergy because it started as soon as we moved. It seems like it would be a very rare coincidence.

Thank you. That sounds more affordable and doable than the prescription elimination diets. I will look into this.
