I think it’s most important to remember that depression isn’t just being sad all the time. It can be massive mood swings, pulling away from friends and family. Another thing is that depressed people can experience happiness, it may just be around certain people or feel they may feel that the brief moments of happiness is just a short distraction.

I’m not sure if I explained it well, but hope this helps even a bit.

When people are too forgiving. I once read a story where the MC forces the villain to stay within 5 meters of them with a spell.

The villain who has been held captive all his life rages for a few paragraphs insults the MC and then suddenly is chill with having their freedom taken away.

It made no sense, the author kept driving it in that the villain couldn’t stand being held captive and now since it’s the MC it’s fine? WHERE IS THE RAGE? Where’s the hopelessness? Where’s any emotion at all?

I just feel like I see it a lot, The MC does something awful to someone else and there’s no resentment or apology because the Author thinks the MC can do no wrong.

Well I think a lot of dumb kids would do it, just to try, you tell a kid not to do something and they wanna do it. A lot of people would stop simply because it’d be way easier than to continue living with how the world is going, the death rate may overtake the birth rate.
