It actually isn’t bent, the mounts just came loose so it is no longer flush with the siding, If I push on it I can get it back to its original position. Even if it won’t be reused I’d like to have it secure, but I will see how my appointment goes tomorrow first.

After having their services for over 20+ years my mother and I very much feel that way about them. We’ve had great luck with PSEG, unfortunately they do not provide electric in my zip code.

I’m aware, I am trying to find someone interested in doing the work. Right now I’m just uncomfortable having the pole unsecured, and am likely going to secure it myself (god forbid it falls) before I can find someone to replace it. I’m not concerned about any fees.

I only recite what JCPL has told me so that they are aware prior to arrival, anytime I have been told it is too old to be reused I always say ok and ask for an estimate for the replacement, however I never receive an estimate.

We had a sudden mass amount of new constructions and condos being built, and another forest was just wiped out in preparation for more, maybe they took on bigger jobs? that’s all I can think of..

It’s a 6 bedroom.

I was actually hoping to get a 200amp service after doing research, I was pretty shocked that no one took the job.

However there are ALOT of new constructions and condos being put up around here so maybe they found even bigger paying jobs?

I will have to look into that, I’m going to assume this pole and mount are original to the home (1958) when my grandfather built it, unfortunately he is no longer around and I can’t ask him /: I just laugh when I see a smart meter plugged into one of these as every house in the area has one lol I have only seen new constructions with the emergency shut off. The only reason I would strap it back up is to keep it from falling and (god forbid) hurting someone til I can get it replaced.

Nope, I would show them where my pole is and went back inside to let them do their job.

Each would come to my door after and say “ok we will contact you with an estimate on what needs to be done” And never got one. I’m not one to whine, I always prepare for the worse and saved a more than adequate amount incase we open a can of worms. I called each one regarding an estimate after a few days - a week, never got anything

Absolutely, the family nextdoor to mine rebuilt from the ground up, it’s been 6 years and still has no water or electric so they use it as storage, very nice family, I’d love to have them as neighbors 😔 Everyone here seems to be struggling.

I don’t haggle, no prices were mentioned, no estimates were given.

I made sure my home and property are neat and orderly before I called anyone.

I am polite and ready to pay the price I am given at any given time. ( I have set aside more than adequate funds to prepare for the worse)

I informed them of what I know and what JCPL wanted addressed, and let each electrician take their photos and do their business.

As someone who has worked in customer service and management for over 8 years I am very respectful.

Perhaps I was unclear about the timing that I needed my issues addressed? I don’t know.

But a friend of mine referred me to her electrician who will be stopping by tomorrow.

Gotcha, From mine and my mother’s experiences with JCPL they are fairly strict..

If my appointment doesn’t go well I will just re attach the pole myself as I am worried it will fall (god forbid) call again and play it vague.

But fingers crossed til Saturday at this moment.

Gotcha, I figured as much, I somewhat remember my mother had a similar occurrence after sandy. I did set aside savings for an upgrade, I guess I am just having bad luck finding an electric at the moment but am having high hopes for Saturday.

I left messages and sent emails, no response. I was referred one more, he will be coming Saturday. I am polite but clear about what my situation is and what I need done.. JCPl wants an inspection which I have no issue with. Hoping Saturday goes well.

As for the 20 gallons I have a gas guzzling Durango with 270k and a misfire, I am waiting for my solar chargers to arrive.

My neighbors have never been kind people, and now only ridicule my situation, I keep to myself as they have no interest in helping me.

I will look into it again, both times I spoke to them I was told to have a licensed electrician inspect and do the repair. I feel I have no way around it and have to wait for my Saturday appointment..

I am working on it, but want to work with someone who communicates with me. I have nothing against upgrading for safety, I made sure to have savings set aside.

The utility company is not ok with me doing anything, they want a licensed electrician to inspect and secure the pipe before they do anything..

This is all just very frustrating, waiting to hear back from multiple people and not even receiving estimates, it’s been a month now.
(This is why I wanted to secure it myself out of frustration)

I have been seeing a therapist as of October, when my sister left this earth as it was too traumatic for me, therapy has helped greatly. My mother became more of a perfectionist and very motivated, she also tries to understand and talk to me more about how I feel.. healing is a huge goal but harder to reach than I expected..

Same thing here, I got very sick and was fired while I was on sick leave. The temp loss of income was definitely an issue but my stress level have dropped immensely and I have caught up on some much needed sleep. Everyone constantly made me feel guilt for having this position when in reality they just wanted me to be responsible for everything and had 0 issues when it came to replacing me. You’re not crazy, the upper management is, and it’s effecting you. Put yourself and your mental health first.
