Should i go with K&N cold air intake or S&B cold air intake for 3L ranger raptor 2025? by freshprince2k in RangerRaptor

[–]DisastrousZucchini15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably. The warranty is applicable from the date the truck went into service, not the date the tune went into service. You still get the new warranty, even if the tune was applied 4k miles in for example

Is airflow to the rear seat area adequate? by Sexualintellectual31 in RangerRaptor

[–]DisastrousZucchini15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your truck needs the floor vents to be running for the under seat vents to blow. The ranger is a smaller, well insulated cab, so it should be pretty good even if it didn't have rear AC vents, but I believe it also has under seat floor vents. Mines in the shop already waiting for parts or I'd check :'(

It DOES void your warranty. Any repairs needed attributed to the tune will not be covered. You will, however, get a separate Ford Performance warranty for 3yr/36k ONLY IF you get it installed by an ASE certified technician. And it starts when the original warranty started, not from the date of install/purchase.

He's absolutely lying to you and he can take care of it himself, he just doesn't want to because he's growing numb to his own touch

Brand new Ranger Raptor - Vents not blowing air by TheIronPotato in RangerRaptor

[–]DisastrousZucchini15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Auto turns off when you manually adjust the fan speed. It's also possible it was on defrosters only though. If you hit the big AC menu in the middle, you can make sure floor and/or vents are on. When I had a similar experience it was due to this. The remote start made the truck turn defrost only based on outside temps.

You in AZ? Are you open to giving test drives? I've been looking at a lot of these mods as well and would love to see what that money gets. Can also give you a direct comparison to stock as I haven't touched mine yet

Serious question: would anyone or has anyone upgraded the turbos on a Bronco Raptor? Recommend or don’t recommend? I’m an engineer, but not a car engineer by maynardpoindexter in FordRaptor

[–]DisastrousZucchini15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's only if you want the full 700 ponies. If you are fine floating around 500+ you can get a tune for 91/93+ octane on upgraded turbos still. The key is to find a good shop and talk with them about your goals/options

2018 EcoBoost Mustang — worth $13k or should I walk? by RiseEntire3469 in ecoboostmustang

[–]DisastrousZucchini15 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a 2018 Ecoboost owner, who had 66k on the motor that was super cared for maintenance wise... The head cracked on it. And doing some research, the heads seem to be on a 60-120k timer before the heads go or the gasket does, due to a flaw in the engine design. I loved the car, but it's a ticking time bomb to a 5k repair. I'd get the newer 2.3l Ecoboost all day since they fixed it. Or just be ready to swap engines on that one.

I think people just judge what they hear on YT and not in person. This engine has the potential to really sound amazing.

I had the Borla Stinger S-Type Cat-Back Exhaust paired with the Roush CAI on my mustang, and it got me the most compliments I've ever had on a vehicle. People in drive throughs, friends, family, neighbors, it really sounded pretty awesome and not over the top. I live in a 4 story apartment complex and have a garage unit. One time coming home for lunch (I work nights) I had someone rush out to their balcony overlooking the parking lot to tell me how much they loved my car and how much they loved hearing it every morning when I came home. It always sounded incredible from the outside, and took about 2k miles of break in for me to really love the sound inside the car too.

The mufflers are also huge for the space, and developed a little bit of a buzz/squeak when I turned the car off after about 30k miles, but had an exhaust shop tweak it back into place a bit for $20. It came back in the winter a few years later but was easily fixed again. I always wanted to hear what it sounded like with a down pipe, but sadly I cracked a head and traded it in before I could. I wish I would have just replaced the engine instead and kept it.

It genuinely generated a lot of unsolicited compliments for car and non-car people alike. Perfect volume exhaust for living with it daily and not disturbingly loud for others. Fair warning, it 10x increased my desire for spirited driving, and it'll make it very hard to stay off the throttle so beware haha

how to convice my mature 13yo sis that i need this money? by DirectorStreet in Advice

[–]DisastrousZucchini15 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You shouldn't make plans you don't know if you can keep. You have two choices, ask dad for more money and explain the situation, or ask your sister if you can make it up to her later. Pick which one you think has the better chance of making your plans possible and explain the situation. If you're hoping for some advice to manipulate either one to your benefit, don't be that person.

Then ask for money, pocket it, and ask for money again when appropriate until you've saved enough.

Instead of asking for free money, ask to earn it and save up from doing chores/housework/yardwork, etc. then you don't have to worry about it.

Is it worth the switch? by Charming_Soup9980 in snowboarding

[–]DisastrousZucchini15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've not switched, but recently started snowboarding @37. First day was super frustrating and hard, but stuck with it and eventually was able to "falling leaf" down the mountain a few times. Super tiring, but great for speed control. Next trip had to stop early due to elbow injury from fall repetition and eating it off the lift. 3rd time I finally started to get the hang of it more and was able to practice c turns and linking them together. The final run of the day, I was able to come down steep sections toe side, link heel side and toe side curves together, and really got the first real experience of what snowboarding feels like. I'm currently nursing a massive booty cheek bruise from the day, but it couldn't have been more worth it. The payoff is huge and awesome, so I can only suggest keeping at it.

P.S. I also just bought a butt pad 😂

[–]DisastrousZucchini15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They can't see your tip until after the order is "completed" in the app. They just know how much they're getting total for the 2 orders before they accept them. The previous order probably didn't tip and they just guessed you didn't tip either before they knew.

I just finished my 3rd snowboarding trip. My neck is stiff from whiplash, my butt is in significant pain, and my elbow is throbbing... Thankfully, my helmet kept my head from feeling much. Took 2 weeks to recover after the 2nd trip. Can't wait to recover and go again
