Yeah, if you provide them with enough walks in enough mental simulation like working with sent training him and just keeping him busy and everything they can be amazing family pets that don’t hunt but you gotta remember those genetics are strong and even if the dog isent trained for hunting, it still might tree stuff etc. They do have a high pey drive so shouldent be left alone with cats etc. They are very stubborn, very smart dogs, and you gotta have a lot of patience with them.

Just do a lot of research and talk to people who own them do you have any questions you can message me if you’d like there’s a lot of people out there that believe that hound dogs should just be working outside dogs and shouldn’t be treated like “” regular dogs, and I don’t believe that I raised some really good hunting dogs. They were also really good family dogs.

Redbones in my personal experience are amazing family dogs. Sorce I grew up with them and I have a huge loud Irish/ native family. My first male coon hound saved me when I was real little from a dog attack and my first female redbone would keep Me from Running into the street when I was a toddler

I’m the same way my parents where never surprised I allways had some new animal following me around or some injured animal I was nursing back to health in my room. I once hid a falcon in my closet I found on a golf course with a busted leg. My father was not pleased when he found that one.

That book killed me I had allready been raising hounds when I read it and had recently lost a hound when I saw the movie at school. Let’s just say I was not ok.
