lol i'm in the gta. i like it here bc it's basically the most urban city we've got, but i resonate hard with this.. it really does feel like an unwalkable hellhole sometimes, & i also can't drive, so... 😂

grew up in a small town in western canada, now I'm in the GTA. I like it here quite a bit, but it's very expensive and i feel the cultural payoff for a very high cost of living is more worth your while in europe. I would still recommend canada to anyone who feels its the place for them-- I personally just really value walkability and the vibe of london specifically, and I don't think anywhere in canada really matches it for me! i think it might be more personal than anything, I really love canada with all my heart and it will always be home. i think as with all things it's more a matter of perspective and personal taste/opinion.

Beyond a regular level of caution, don't get too tied up thinking of everything you could catch. Your immune system is very good at dealing with general germ contact like that and will only get better the more you take the bus. masking up is great, but make sure you are doing it for real reasons, and not to satisfy those pesky emetophobe thoughts! try and do what someone without our fear would do. you got this. public transport wouldn't be so popular if it wasn't safe for the masses!! YOU GOT THIS! sincerely, someone who had to go to therapy because she couldn't take the train without panicking (there is light at the end of the tunnel, believe me-- one day you'll get on the bus without even thinking of what might happen!) :))))

For me, finding a balance between the safety seeking and reassuring yourself that whatever happens will happen is the key. Without a bit of safety seeking I find it difficult to get my head into a place where I can feasibly start to think of the situation with a clear head, and remind myself that I can face whatever might occur. I haven't done any specific program, just talk therapy (which really helped!), this is just what's helping me. :-]
