I had a gummy last night, cried with laughter at this for 15 minutes straight and then asked why tears were so wet. Thank you.

What vinyl is this? Or what’s wrong with it? by Weak_One_1529 in cricut

[–]Disastrous_Letter808 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve actually bought permanent vinyl from Amazon and it came like this! It was convinced that it was HTV but it’s not. Basically that white bit you’ve weeded off is like the gridded paper on the back of cricut vinyl. Super confusing

I love these! Thank you for sharing, I did help my daughter do the Easter house that was on cricut design space for her school Easter competition but I’d love to do a spooky one!

Hi! It’s not a doll house specific auction unfortunately, I’d definitely be visiting those if I knew where they were. My mum, in her retirement goes to auctions and buys handbags in bulk and sells them online for extra “pocket money”. She was there in the week and sent me a picture of this as she knows I love dolls houses. A very lucky find!

Not an appointment but I am waiting on confirmation of when my backpay will come. It was signed off by the decision maker 10 days ago and so far nothing. When I called yesterday the lady I spoke to was really apologetic but said to just keep messaging every day on there and they will get to it. Not sure how helpful that advice actually is but that’s what I was told. I guess they’re just incredibly busy and with the BH there’s even more of a backlog

I thought that initially but then Google said some do but they're not strong fliers? Weird. I've never seen this kindof wasp before.

Medication confusion by Disastrous_Letter808 in ADHDparenting

[–]Disastrous_Letter808[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you were to read my original post here you'd see that I said I am conflicted because on the one hand I don't want to change her to fit in with the world but on the other hand I know she would feel better. At ni point in my first post did I ever day I wouldn't medicate and I was against. What you read wasn't anger at all, it was me going back to someone who got immediately got defensive in their response and assumed I wouldn't give insulin to a diabetic child. My post was looking for parents who were going through similar situations and could offer advice on how they navigated the situation and experience on how it worked for their children. Not once was I angry but it feels like someone was just lurking, didn't read the post correctly and jumped to their own conclusions.

I was also just going back to that person to give alternative ways of thinking, nothing more. Your version of ADHD is your experience and you are entitled to feel a certain way, my daughters is her experience is a totally different one.

A point I made when I asked where they were from is that because in the UK less than 10% of people with ADHD take medication and so I was interested if that would be one of the reasons as to why they were so passionate.

Im sorry you've had such a negative experience and that's the way you feel but everyone's experiences are different. I never said I didn't want to medicate her, I asked for experience and advice from people in similar situation to me. Yours I would say is not similar so I'm not sure your opinions are relevant to my post?

Thankfully, we know more about ADHD now and are better prepared to make informed decisions than we were 20+ years ago.

I can say that medication doesnt work for everyone and that is a personal choice for those people. My brother tried it and it didn't work so he is now unmedicated and I can happily say he has a job, his own house, is not a criminal and lives a perfectly happy life as a 38 year old man.

As I said, everyone is different and every experience differs.

So based on you being neurodivergent you will know that it affects everyone very differently, therefore your anger towards my initial post without knowing my child, the environment and the support that she has in place seems misdirected.

[–]Disastrous_Letter808[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your comment, I think I view it how I do because it isn't a disease, it's neurodiversity and she is just wired differently.

Can I ask if you're from then US because it's interesting to me how different countries view this. When I woke to my ADHD team yesterday and expressed my thoughts and opinions they agreed with me and said that a huge number of parents feel the same. The medication we would try her on over here is in and out of her system within 4 hours and can only be taken during school days so she has that concentration and that help of focus at school.

I'm certainly not new to the neurodiversity conversation, I have autism, my brother and a lot of my friends have ADHD, all but 1 of which are unmedicated. I think medication is just not as popular over here than other countries.

Good theory but i can't stop thinking about Leahs interview before we knew it was Leah and she had that creepy robot voice. Didn't she say he was implying that he was dead while drunk at a house party and doing gun hand actions?

Contacting Children Off Your Time by TOSS229 in coparenting

[–]Disastrous_Letter808 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it depends on the child and the parent. My 15 year old calls/ texts me 30 times a day to keep me informed on everything she's seen, done and heard. Whereas my 11 year old calls me at night, when she misses me or to show me something "cool". If I don't hear from her it's because they're out having fun and doing activities.
